Not that it matters since I didn't like the show anyway, but is the 12-3 Sports Talk dead? I tuned in the last couple of days and it's "Pro Football Daily" or something like that. What did I miss?

I asked Mickey about it last month. He said peeps didnt care for Rome and money was an object. If I can find the email, I'll post it

i thought it was Josh Ward and Chip Cain from 12-3 with an occasional Will West sighting from 2-3.

They have it split up into 3, one hour subjects:

12-1: Pro Sports Today
1-2: College Sports
2-3: Lighter Side of Sports

I listened on pod casts and live for a couple weeks, now I just can't stand the format or Chip Cain so I don't bother. Every now and then I'll give them a chance, but it usually gets shot down with Cain moaning about something stupid.

No joke, one day they had a soild one hour discussion about playing one on one basketball against each other. That's when I was done with it.

The Sports Animal in Knoxville is a joke. The station on FM has the weakest signal of any station and the AM 990 channel is even weaker. I will be glad when they are off the air, so frustrating when a station can't broadcast 30 miles out of Knoxville. I am surprised they can get sponsors.

I was just wondering about the noon - 3 slot that Jim Rome used to occupy.I have been out of town for a few weeks, tuned in to the sports animal the
other day and heard John and Josh show on. did rome get the boot or is this
a temporary thing? thanks, just wondering. Aaron

Subject: RE: Feedback

We replaced Rome with John and Josh. It was a financial decision. Local
businesses didn't want to advertise on Rome.

Sad but true: I'd rather listen to Jeff Jacoby talk about his T shaped pool and Tennessee Tech career than listen from 12-3.

Yeah, but they replaced John with Chip Cain for money reasons. I think that's what Ward said on the show one day.

Yeah, that's when they made the switch to Sports Talk with John Pennington and Josh Ward but now they have replaced that with the show mentioned above.

the noon show is pretty bad but let's not get carried away here.

Eh, it's close. Sometimes having a host someone can't stand is good. Example: JT The Brick. He'll piss you off but he has some pretty sound things to say and knows how to run his show for an audience.

Chip Cain just starts moaning and won't stop about something that's just irrelevent.

LOL The 12-3 show is absolutely horrible. Chip Kane must have naked pics of Mickey or something. I cannot understand why he has a job. He is so argumentative about the most trivial stuff. And yes, the basketball 1 on 1 game was the highlight show of the century. Like 2 kids arguing.

To be honest, I have not listened to the animal for some time. I'll tune in sometimes in the evening and thats about it. Rarely in the mornings even. Knox sports radio is pretty pitiful. I would rate KC sports talk a step better and its not a college town. But even they are not that great.

The morning show with Doc, Jeff, and Heather is the WORST by far. The sports page (if it's still on) is actually a decent show, and the afternoon show is okay.

It's talk radio folks, it can't be great -- only tolerable.

Ditto, the News Sentinel Sports Page is the only show that's tolerable.

What's sad about that is his trade is writing, not radio. He just happens to host a show. Same for Strange. I really enjoy when he co-hosts with Hooker.

They need to put Will West and Josh on the show, Chip Cain is horrible. I'm sorry but I had to turn it off the other day when he started talking about how good looking he was. Cain needs to go.

Will West is also enjoyable to listen to with the few minutes he may get a day to speak

i think Will West is going places. He's by FAR the most enjoyable person to listen to.
