I didn't mean that COMMON SENSE :D , but now that you mention it, you could do a lot worse than Thomas Paine as your guide.

Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one.

ethics/morals in my case.

what qualifies as foreign documents and ideas? that one kind of confuses me.

i'm surprised the economy didn't get any votes. shows how well we're doing right now -- put this to us again in a few months when credit's tighter and you might get some different results there.

Foreign Documents and Ideas...

Basic principles that other countries are run on, i.e. French labor philosophy, European firearm control, etc.

Anything that one basically looks at and says, I don't really care that it goes against the basic provisions in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, it works fine over there.

French labor philosophy

The best on the planet. Under French Law, when a person is fired, compensation is given for how many years they have worked in their particular field.

So if I work for 15 years and get fired, I get 15 years of pay!

GOD BLESS THE FRENCH!

If by best, you mean the absolute worst, then yes.

France is the largest welfare state, ever. Millions of youth are protesting in the streets right now, because the government is actually trying to revoke a law that states that if you are hired and fired from a company prior to 3 years work with them, you get 3 years compensation!

I can't stand tadpoles...

The most entertaining arguments from the 2004 election season always came from the Democrats and their criticism of Bush for going ahead in Iraq without the support of Chirac and France.

Let's all thank God that FDR and Churchill went ahead with Operation Overlord without the support of Vichy France...

You left out french dressing. Reminds me of "Better off Dead". Gee Ricky, I am sorry your mom's face blew up. The doctor says she will be ok if she lays off of the spicey food.

What was that quote from National Lampoon's Vacation?

"I've french kissed"

"So, everybody does that"

"Yeah, but Daddy says I'm the best at it"

Amazing how many people voted for religion :disappointed:

Why? I think it's perfectly understandable. If your core morals/beliefs are not followed by a person/party than why vote for them. For example, if you believe abortion to be wrong based on your beliefs, how could you vote for a pro-choice candidiate? Like it or not, it is a driving force in many American lives.
