What exactly kind of "misleading" information did Pearl mislead about? Anyone have any ideas.... You could definitely hear the sincerity in Pearl's voice. He know's he made a big mistake, but it's in the past. We as a vol nation need to stand behind our coach just like we do the young men & women athletes who represent the university of tennessee. We all make mistakes, and we all need someone there for us when we we're down. So let's stand behind our coach and support him.

It didn't say what he lied about. He contacted recruits and then lied to NCAA about it. I heard something about him getting pre-paid phones and contacting recruits when we were not supposed to be.

contacting recruits is my guess as to what he mislead them about

Tennessee is really good at imposing sanctions on self that result in no further sanctions by NCAA.

I did not realize this investigation has been going so long. Can you imagine a football investigation going on under the radar this long?

This is a toss up about what will happen next.

(1) The NCAA is on the apparent warpath about lots of stuff right now.
(2) That staff has been largely agent related, which does not appear to apply here.
(3) Tennessee's basketball program (although it sucked) has been largely clean since inception
(4) The NCAA could lump the entire athletic department into considering sanctions. They have done this before with Alabama, Auburn, USC, Prairie View, etc.

It was the burner phones.

We do not have a lack of control.

We are also going to end up being one of about 25 schools with burner phones.

I guess Kiffin and Ed O got Pearl pay as you go phones. Like all the NCAA coaches don't use them. Is Kansas getting looked at since Selby wound up there. Calapari signs a guy who player for a Turkey team and got paid. Kanter What a joke.
