I don't mean this game against Alabama (though it certainly applies) but any and all games. In a very simplistic breakdown, IMO, it requires one or all of the following legs up on your opponent.
1) Better football players - No one can deny that to defeat your opponent 9 times out of 10 you need to have better players on the field.
2) Better coaching staff - A team is much like a gun in that it can be a hand cannon or a pea shooter, and neither are worth a crap in the hands of a piss poor shot (coaches).
3) Luck - Football games are won many times on lucky calls, lucky bounces, and one in a million mistakes committed by the opposing team.
Now, which of these does our team possess in comparison to our year in year out opponents (SEC teams).
Dooley & Co are certainly hands down the lesser coaches in this conference. Our roster is not much in comparison to Bama, Florida, LSU, Georgia, etc. Also, while Dooley isn't recruiting poorly, he's NOT out-recruiting these teams. Finally, Dooley is just about the unluckiest guy I've ever had the misfortune of watching coach college football. From injuries to bad calls, the ball just NEVER seems to bounce his way.
Guys, I don't think Dooley is ever going to get it done. Ever
