We watched this unfold last season. The team imploded. They didn't stop paying last night and that's a good thing, but you know they are grumbling in the locker room. It will be hard for some of them to listen to the coaches game plan when the team can't win an SEC game. Also, with the coaches staying with Cromp I am sure there are some mixed feelings.
What do they do?

I do think that Kiffin has to seriously start considering Stephens as an option.

Stephens is NOT an option unless something catastrophic happens....There is a reason he is sitting on the bench....Some of you need to figure that out, It's not like Kiffin doesn't know what he's doing...My god...Facts are facts, Crompton is the best We got and as horrible as that is We are going to just have to deal with it and ride out the storm.

Seriously, I hear this all the time from some of you. No coach knows everything. They don't have a crystal ball that shows them how a player does on gameday. They see practice and what happens in it. We all know that JC does better in practice than on Saturdays. You can't play much worse than JC did yesterday in the first half. If NS is worse, we still would have lost and be in the shape we are in today. But I don't have a crystal ball either and would love to see a new face at QB. If he's truly horrible after a couple games then I know that.

what possible good could it do to keep playing crompton?

what possible harm could it do to give stephens a chance?

if stephens plays worse, give crompton his job back. but, at least give it a chance.

hell, hold open tryouts among the student body and give one of them a chance.

i can't remember the coach who said this....but, it applies to crompton....."i can lose without you"

I'm sure they have considered it after each game. No one wants to purposely lose a game. I'm also sure the players know which qb is better out there and that's why the team hasn't "quit" on Crompton. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Look for the positives no matter how subtle they may be. I think they can improve. Lots of stupid mistakes tonight. We had a lot of guys who aren't always on the field and to be honest haven't had a lot of passes thrown to them. At some point the receivers have to anticipate Cromptons mistakes and adjust. I'm not saying it's their fault for the mistakes but great players make adjustments. As for will the team start to fall apart - NO - The coaches are good enough to keep the players motivated and positive. The Juniors will have to look at it as they still have a year left. The seniors will have to realize that if they quit on this then they will probably be quitters in life.

Crap man....I'm sorry but that first half offensive game plan was drawn up for an offense that doesn't involve Jon Crompton. It would have been good if we had anyone capable of playing QB. Why doesn't Kiffin get that JC just can't do it? The kid just can't play a live game of football. Why are we going 5 wide with JC as our QB? We are having success with the run, why are we asking JC to throw the ball? Were we trying to shock the Auburn defense? They'll never suspect a pass play from Crompton.....they'll never think we'd be dumb enough to try it........they'll never see this first half air attack coming!! WTF man?

Yes the receivers dropped passes....out of utter shock probably that a foreign pig leather object was touching their hands.

The drops were horrible yesterday. I would like to see Richardson and Teague get more opportunities. We also have a defiency in speed on our offense.

I was actually wondering that on the first couple of dropped passes. As horrible as it was I was laughing thinking that at the time. You have to wonder what the play call was when he hit Hancock in the side of the helmet. It was obvious Hancock had no clue it was being thrown to him.

What happened after our first play? We never used that formation again. Looked like it was effective.

Shouldn't you be worrying about your own team?...Why are you here?...I see Tebow is improving.

Give the man $100. He's nailed it.

We are slow. Our one speedy reciever has the hands of Leonard Scott, and the rest of the upperclassmen are not fast.

Brent Vinson was one of the top WRs in the country coming out of prep school. It's pretty obvious that the kid can't cover as a DB, but he's made some nice INT's in his career. Maybe they should move him back.

I like Kiffin to, but I do feel like he owes it to the team to at least try Stephens.. I hate to say it, but I think it may be CLK's ego that is getting in the way about switching the QBs.... None of us are rigtht all the time, even though it is hard to admit sometimes..

:good!: This x 1,000,000,000!!! Nick Stephens is definitely not the answer. Sure, they could let him in the game, but he would be just as much of a failure as JC has been. We simply do not have a QB on this team so JC is what we have to rely on. We just need to start mixing in a lot more of the "Pahokee Package" and possibly even let him throw the ball some. Maybe even give Teague a shot in the wildcat--he was a decent QB in HS.

Hmmmmm....did you not watch any of NS's play last season?? Doesn't take a crystal ball to see what a failure it would be with him in the game. Why throw off what little cohesion/rhythm we have on offense by bringing in another terrible QB so he can pad his stats with terrible numbers as he has done in the past?

He was looking over his shoulder last season when he was in the game. He had a different staff. This one might create a better plan for him this season. It's a failure with who we have right now. A loss is a loss. I myself might like seeing one with a different QB.

That is exactly what I said last night. If Crompton could just throw a few more drives together like he did on our scores we could do this. That's what is so frustrating, he shows us he can do it and gives us hope and then he rips our hearts out. He looked comfortable to me in the 2 minute offense, maybe we need to go no huddle so he doesn't have to think so much, just react.

A Monte Kiffin defense is taking bad angles and missing tackles because they're so tired because they've been on the field 13 minutes in the first half. Why? Because our O can't sustain a drive. That's catastrophic enough, my friend.

I was never a fan of going to Stephens, but I am not.

If for nothing else, the team will rally around him.
