What does BAMA's near loss mean for our guys? Is there hope this time around?

This means absolutely nothing come October. Bama will bring their Bama A game to Neyland. They always do no matter whatever rest of their season looks like. Protestations to the fact that it is no longer a real rivalry are bull. The game matters to the Tide. We must rise to the occasion and we just might this time. But don’t put any hope in their last game

No doubt, we did not see the BAMA of old on Saturday. Does this mean we actually have some hope of beating them? Are we better than that other "UT" in the Southwest?
It means Texas looked a lot better than we did and if we want to play Bama that close, we had better get to playing our A game quickly.

Texas lost their starting QB. If he doesnt get hurt, I believe Texas would've won.
They didn't lose their starting QB, we knocked his ass out of the game. He certainly didn't get upset and quit because of wrong pronouns

Knocking the starting QB out of the game by injury TX still LOST their starting QB for the rest of the game. I am not aware of any QB who just quits because he is upset.

We have nowhere near the talent that Texas does in the trenches. That's the difference. Did you see the monsters they had on the O and D LOS? We Are still 2 years away from seriously competing with the upper echelon.
You're kinda exaggerating right now. I'm pretty sure Texas ain't even on Bama's level when it comes to recruiting. The game was close because Bama hasn't had their typical game breakers step up at WR. It was basically the same thing we saw in the title game, except Texas didn't have the type of defense GA had. I could be wrong but I don't see a Julio, Amari, Jeudy, Waddle, Ruggs, Williams, or Metchie on this team. We gave Bama a fight for 3 quarters last year. At their house, with less talent than we have right now. Ain't no reason to think we can't give them a full 4 quarter run at our house. Especially if Banks dials it up like he did against Pitt, who had a really good veteran front.

It's risky to pick any team, good or bad, and draw too much of a conclusion about how the season is going to work out. Most teams change so much from week to week, especially the first half of the season.

And why are you so desperate for UT NOT to be relevant again that you lift your leg on any potential positive thing?
TN won when they played extremely poorly. Don’t know how much more positive we should be about this team. I could go on & on about how badly this team played Saturday, but why?

Quality teams win when they have an off day look at Alabama against Texas. I think Tennessee goes 10-2 at best and 9-3 at worst.

LOL. The O didn't play well. The D played well for all but two plays. That's pretty positive considering just about everyone thought the O would have to carry the D all year long.

The Bama/Texas reminds me that the referees ain’t gonna let Bama lose.
Bama cheats and they suck it.

Florida almost beat Alabama last year. They were a train wreck and Alabama beat Georgia to win the SECCG. So it means about the same.
