I dont see us losing to Vandy at home, but I think Kentucky is another story. And anyone who has been watching UT football at all knows that we can slip up at any time and play like a high school team...

Obviously this UT team SHOULD beat Kentucky, but what if we dont? What do you think will happen to Fulmer and the rest of the staff then?

I know after Saturday's win everyone feels great about this team and we're all optimistic about the rest of the season, but if theres anything ive learned by being a UT fan, its not to get my hopes up.

a loss to Kentucky would probably mean a liberty bowl appearance and a 3rd place finish in the east...that will not fit well with fans.

I dont even want to think about something like this happening but Im glad people are still making posts like this cause it seems like when people start to doubt the Vols win!

What will happen? What will happen is that every fan from rival teams would be on here laughing at us, telling us how we shouldn’t have been there in the first place, and a crappy bowl game appearance/performance. Fulmer would still be here next year telling us that he’s going to study the film and work like heck to improve. That’s just my 2 cents.

Your quote by Lincoln is appropriate.

If we lose to KY it will have no effect on Fulmer's job. He will be back regardless IMO.

If we lose to Vandy and KY it may be a different story, but probably not. Lose to both and lose the bowl game and he could be gone.

...and there is no way that we lo...

never mind, don't want to jinx us

Right now I view the UT-Kentucky game as a pick 'em game. While UT has looked good in its last couple of games, you have been vulnerable on the road. Kentucky is still looking to make a statement of its competitiveness in the SEC and Woodson is the real deal.

That game is going to be close.

It probably will be. UK always tends to play UT pretty close.

That being said, UT should not slip up. UK's down to what, their 4th string TB? Woodson is streaky.

Why is it a forgone conclusion that this UT team SHOULD beat UK? I wouldn't consider it to be a choke if they lose. We have obvious holes in our secondary with three guys will little experience out there - and we're going up against a team that has obvious skill throwing the ball. They are also a team that has shown the ability to run the ball when necessary (although I guess their run game has suffered from injuries). I'm not saying that we're largely over-matched or that we have no chance - but I think it is a stretch to say that this UT team SHOULD beat UK. In fact, I would say that the chances are about 50/50. It really depends on how each team executes - and we've executed pretty poorly on the road this year. The fact that this is a road game may be what costs us the SECE.

If we were to lose to Vandy fulmer should be asked to leave- retire whatever. If we lose to KY then I think it might come down to the bowl game. If we lose to KY and the crappy bowl game then phil should be gone.

kentucky has been a scary game on the schedule all year for me. if there was a year for the cats to beat the vols, this is it. hopefully ut will be clicking on all cylinders in lexington.

Be careful with that sentiment. Florida has a chance to beat a decent out-of-conference opponent in FSU.

Someone has to make up for the Cal beat-down of UT back in September.

nahh buddy.

Go Noles. I dont care about conference to conference rankings. All I care about is UT winning and Florida losing.

So...again..... GO NOLES.

I agree with you there. conference to conference rankings dont mean a whole lot.

I dont see FSU winning that game but if they do I wouldnt be to upset about it. :)

I'm not worried at all about Vandy or UK. Ga will blow out UK this week and they will have nothing left when UT plays them. I'm worried only about the SEC title game in December. Anyone know any good hotels in Atlanta---I'm going ahead and making reservations.
