When you watch Freeze, Coastal Carolina, Alabama, or top college offenses this year, you’ll notice their Qb’s making good decisions with the ball which leads to better drives and scores....

But aside from this, what else are the top offenses doing that we didn’t do this year??

Better route combos? Better plays? Better running play disguise? WRs more open? More TE use? Better blocking?

Last year we were whiffing on blocks and looked confused on passing plays... this year I didn’t really analyze it but we looked really bad for a lot of the year....

We had a q.b that handicapped us most of the year. So that kind of handicapped our play calling. Chaney loves to throw the ball around the yard. I just think the q.b made that nearly impossible for us to be creative.

Elite QBs and wide receivers. Bamas wide outs the last few years have been ridiculous. Ruggs, Juedy, Smith, waddle. Florida with Trask and Pitts this year was ridiculous. Lawrence in 18 with higgins, Ross and renfrow. Burrow with Jefferson and chase

"I take responsibility for those bad offensive calls there.....thats on me. They were indeed offensive to watch. I can't wait to get in the film room Sunday and make changes. We're going to make Tennessee feared again soon....aight." ~Pruitt

The key is qb. Great offensive coaches start with mentoring the qb. Kiffin, sark, dabo, freeze and Chadwick. Yet our doofus continued to trot Jg out there and when he flat out threw away several games early this season (as he’s done consistently throughout his entire career)...instead of going to the younger guys we instead dumbed down the playbook to where we were running the ball 80% of the time.

Most have qb’s that are capable of escaping the pocket when the play breaks down and they create an offense that fits their personnel. Pruitt runs an offense based on the 85 Bears

Agree 100%. That’s one of the first things we should look for in a qb and if they have no escapability I would move on to someone else. They don’t have to be a burner. I think he what’s already established that he has god pocket awareness and can escape when needed. Trask isn’t that fast as all but makes some big plays with his legs.

Good luck throwing it with the QB’s feet moving or getting hit on every play.

Yes. The key there is a qb being able to throw on the move. We continued to play Jg who was unable to do that. We should’ve played someone else. Anyone else really

Quick plays. Make opponents pay for stacking the box and blitzing. Chaney's weakness it appears is quick plays other than basic screens.
