What did you have for dinner II?

Sorry for the long post with not much dinner news ( metal people may skip to the last paragraph 😂).
Just got off the phone with the memory care director where we moved /placed my dad into a room yesterday and overall things went pretty good last night but he was resistive and combative with staff but was expected. He had bit me a few days ago when we trying to get him changed for bed and he has bruised hands on mom and 2 ladies helping In the past several weeks. For someone so weak and frail and who’s unable to dress, change diaper ,feed, or walk the man has hand strength of a 25 yo weightlifter😂. As one of the hospice nurses said “your dad isn’t hitting and biting you the Alzheimer’s disease is hitting you your dad is a kind gentle man being controlled by a terrible disease we can’t fix”. moving him should have happened several months ago as we were committed to keeping dad at home as long as possible but mom had to get there mentally. 3.5 years we managed to keep him in his home which more than anyone could expect. By the time she did corona changed the game completely but we got there at long last.
My mom is at my house and we (me and my wife) were up at 630 with coffee, talking a bit and crying a bit wondering how dad did last night so we called to see about 9am and will FaceTime with the director and she will video with dad around lunchtime. He is unable to form many coherent thoughts/ sentences but she did say he was asking for my mom and thank God I wasn’t on speaker for my mom to hear. She was sitting there crying listening to the one way good news I was conveying.
He is in 14 day quarantine and no visitors for at least 30 days so mom is really upset nobody can go visit ( thus the abandoned comments) but we will get through. MY daughter in law brought our granddaughter up this am so my mom is distracted playing with her great grandaughter for the first time in 2+months so that should help the pain some today! Thanks so much for the prayers and kind thoughts and as I said it’s somewhat uplifting for me to just read this thread and share a bit With the great folks here!

@Tin Man as promised my wife wanted to fix something comforting for us after mom said “ toughest day of my life abandoning my husband of 58 years to strangers”. We had one of our farm raised meat chickens that turned into chicken and pastry with side of English green peas and was a pleasant ending to an absolutely terrible (but the right decision) day.
thank you friends!🙏

Hang in there brother. My prayers are with you and your family.

OK Folks. (I will cut and paste this in the Grill thread too. Complete coverage). This is a preemptive strike on what is coming soon. Outside Cookeville, and near my office out in Baxter lies Victory Beef in Bloomington Springs. For those of you that like ordering online beef, check them out. Tell them that local guy that came out said to buy from them. All Wagyu. All grass fed. All grass finished. No grains. Ans surprisingly decent prices. Stopped by there today to see what he had. Has everything. Ships anywhere.

I left with a 12 LB Wagyu full brisket that is going in the smoker this weekend, if not tomorrow. Also left with some really nice looking dry aged Wagyu short ribs, and Wagyu ground meat. Will be going back for some Tomahawks. For you Italian cooking chaps, he even had dry aged Osso Bucco. This will be my first shot of Wagyu running over my taste buds. I hope its good cause these are 100% grass fed and finished. No marbling or flavor alteration you'd get in grain finished cattle.

Stay Tuned.

Wife's night to cook....:(
