What did you have for dinner II?

From a can. I'm not wasting fresh salmon making a patty, cake, or croquette out of it.

I loved my mom's salmon croquettes. She used salmon in a can.
lol sorry VG i use fresh anything rather than canned even my tuna salad is fresh poached tuna not canned 3 outta 4 times.
I can eat canned sardines, anchovies, corned/salted herring (eastern NC staple) which are wayyyy more fishy but off brand fish sticks and canned salmon croquettes are my kryptonite now. That is two of the three things Ill never forgive my mom for... the third is off brand powdered carnation instant milk instead of fresh milk all because she was stretching the dollar. I would have gone without under wear and socks to have fresh milk growing up.

Not sure what you're sorry about? lol You do your thing, I do mine. It's what make the world go round!

Ive had it and its not bad... I usually take baby octo with lemon salt and olive oil and grill lightly.
BTW tonight we had some of our pasture raised chicken with orange ginger garlic and ponzu glaze with basmati rice and okra& tomatoes. Those chickens are so worth the effort to raise them! Calling @VolNExile it had a little carmelization (ALOT lol) on it from the sugar but dang good.

We had friends over, and they had requested Cuban. So we wrapped up South Beach Phase 1 and went straight to Phase 86 or something:

ropa vieja
yuca (not yucca) with sautéed onions
Cuban black beans with bacon
yellow rice
mojitos and wine

oh, forgot, edit to add: maduros (fried ripe plantains) with mojo dipping sauce

I'm doing the eat a little less, eat fewer refined carbs, eat more veggies, go for an evening walk "diet."
That’s great.
I read an article recently that said the three most important things you can do to stay healthy and lose weight.
1. Eat a lot of veggies
2. Eat less sugar
3. Eat more whole foods (instead of processed foods)

I have in the past.

Right now I’m following this low carb, high protein diet given to me by a nutritionist who I see every four weeks.

Breakfast: Protein Shake
Snack: Greek yogurt
Lunch: Protein Shake
Dinner: Protein, vegetables and a starch or fruit
Wowsers, that’s a low cal diet as well! How’s it working (other than that little Super Bowl interruption)?

It’s been going great, lost about 50 pounds in 3 and a half months. Everything has been going smoothly, it’s become automatic. But since the Super Bowl interruption it’s been hard getting back on track. Yesterday was better except a little late night snacking and today hope to get back into my routine completely, I still have about 40 more pounds to go to reach my goal weight. This has been a great learning experience and a lifestyle change. I’ve really started to enjoy cooking and planning meals. I have stayed away from fast food completely and have come to realize it’s not very good and I don’t miss it.

That's what I am mostly doing. I started in 2018 and successfully lost the weight with measuring/weighing my food intake daily and more exercise daily. I now no longer feel dependent on measuring/weighing everything, just some things (usually the higher calorie items), and eyeball the rest. Proud that I can now do a proper portion on my own.

I cut out fast food back in 2009, have only gone back to it a couple times since. My original thought was okay, lets try 3 days without it...then it became a week..then it became a month...then it just kept going and for the most part, I don't miss it. I do think about some of those foods every once in awhile, but I only allow myself to eat out once a week so I really don't care to waste my outing at a fast food place. I do wonder if I would still even like some of those places.
