This stuff goes on all the time...kobe just happened to say it while the camera was on him. He is taking a little more heat for this than deserved.

Being the face of the league I'd say is bringing on the overreaction

You're living in the past, man. You can't say stuff like that anymore.

he called him a bundle of twigs. I'd give him a confused look if he called me that.

I think 100K was a bit much. I know he shouldn't of said what he said, but all athletes lose their cool at some point. I honestly don't think he was trying to offend any gays by saying what he did. I know Kobe probably laughs at 100K, but IMO that is still too much.

I see actors and comedians use that phrase all the time and they don't get in trouble for it. Obviously Kobe is expected to act under a certain standard in the NBA, but wow. I just couldn't believe he was fined that much. Thoughts?

If the NBA is worried about offending people, they should fine Hasheem Thabeet 100K for his game.

It's being he directed it at the ref after calling his name. I don't think he was calling that to the refs face, but still, it looked pretty bad.

Link? Every time I hear anyone say it, it's quickly followed by backlash and an apology. See: Grey's Anatomy guy.
