What College promotes(enables) Drunkeness?

Exactly what's the problem with accepting the reality that college students are going to get drunk and providing them with safe transportation?

It's pretty ridiculous really. Fraternities aren't even allowed to have "beeper" services that shuttle around their intoxicated brothers on weekends.

The City of Knoxville provides essentially the same service with the trollies on weekends from campus to downtown and the Old City. Any municipality that is home to a major university and doesn't establish such a program is either recklessly naive or tragically stupid.

I doubt seriously that anyone sits around and makes the decision to go get drunk at UF so they can take the freakin bus at 2 a.m.. Its a wise ploy, though, to keep them off the road if they are going to do it. Who knows how many lives they are saving?

She said women are either emotional and cry about anything from men to lost drivers' licenses, or they pretend they are strippers and dance around the poles throughout the bus.

"Women want to be strippers when they see those poles," Shaquita said.

Tasha said one of the craziest things she has seen while driving was when two women, whom she presumed were freshmen, were standing outside the bus and started begging an older man for a piece of pizza.

"He asked them what they'd do for a piece, and when they said, 'Anything,' he made them make out," Tasha said. "And that's nothing compared to the orgies I've heard about on other buses."

And you wonder why the UF fan base is so loyal.

dude, we have the safe bus here in tallahasssee (FSU) people ride that thing all the time. Lots of colleges have one.

Nonetheless, it provides a safety service. The pledges will be able to take advantage of that same service in mere months.

I am just saying, as a former national representative of a fraternity myself, that is why there is no beeper service allowed, not because having one would promote drinking.

LOL, no we certainly aren't. I guess I just don't quite understand what all of the buzz has been about. Seriously, I'll see a hundred girls better looking than her out and about tomorrow night. They just won't be dressed quite ... the same way.

she looks pretty hot at the right angle, but she's definetly not a keeper. i'm waiting for the inevitable softcore movie (or "accidently" released home movie) to come out in the next 12 months.

I would love to be a chaperone type on the weekends on the bus. I'm sure you would have a great time.

I really posted this just at another shot to try to get LG fired up again. It may be a good idea but # 1 I thought baretenders are suppose to quit serving when a patron had enough and # 2 I don't think these kids go straight to bed when they drop them off at their dorms and # 3 there really are people who do become addicts and eventually the state/government does pay for alot of this help out of our tax money. As I have always said, there are people who know how to drink and people who should leave it alone.
