What can a new coach do with some of the talent that has been riding the pine?

I think it's a good situation for an up and coming coach. After all we still will have Gerald Jones, Lennon Creer, Tauren Poole, Ahmad Paige, and especially, Eric Berry.

It's not the like the new coach will inherit a team devoid of talent. :rock2:

That's exactly right. You have to think there's a whole bunch of coaches out there chomping at the bit at this opportunity. The teams got talent on the benches and on Defense that any coach would be happy to rebuild around.

there is plenty of talent on this roster across the board. the only places where we have inexperienced depth is dt and oline. a lot of sophomores on this team that will be leaders for the next two years. a couple really exciting potential recruits and we can make a run at the sec as early as next year.

maybe riding the pine for a reason? If so then it will probably continue when a new coach come in

I wouldn't got that far, but to think that Tennessee will not do well in the short term is a little silly. Honestly, we can't get much worse than where we are right now.

A new coach has a very good nucleus of players to build around. It's all going to be about getting a few prime time recruits and utilizing them early in an entirely new offensive and defensive system. We could have a very competitive team next year and could be a serious contender within a couple years.

You are absolutely dreaming. We are weak at quarterback, two years minimum to correct that more likely 3 or 4. Our offensive line is the worst in the SEC with nothing coming in this year to help. Our receivers are slow and we have no depth.

We have one great defensive back and an outstanding defensive line this year and next.

A new coach will struggle as bad as Fulmer this year no matter who they are.

actually with a dual-threat QB, I would speculate with about a year possibly 2 for a turn around.

We have exceptional depth at RB and with what is coming in will be a burden just to keep them all in scholarship.
WR is stocked (especially if we get Marlon Brown)
TE- could be outstanding
OL- if we get Moses and White, could be special
LB corps is well stocked
DB- waggner and rogan- Berry and Morley

We have some special talent....so who can mold it?

the reality of a new coach, and some energy with a team full of talent is being exemplified currently in Tuscaloosa....so hambone get us a coach with TT type energy and we may have something special in the NEAR FUTURE.
