I personally don't have high expectations at all, I'm excited about the change and look forward to just enjoying the hopefully new look and swagger of our team. I'd say if they go to a bowl game, I'm happy.

What I want is:

For thew new coach to rid the team of Us vs. the World, Fulmer is our Uncle, etc. group think. If, like Hat has said many times over, they don't like the new coach, to hell with them, go somewhere else.

No matter who Tennessee hires, I don't see them pulling a Saban here. Anyone who honestly thinks they will is out of their minds. All I look for is steady progress towards the ultimate goal.

In respects of being ranked #1 in 2 years, no not at all. In respects of coming in and changing a culture, very much so. The first thing a coach needs to do is come in here and lay down the law and if some players leave then bye, bye.

Saban ran off what 15 or so because they didn't like him or he didn't like them. So be it.

Yes, I meant being #1. As far as the change in the teams attitude, that is a must.

I expect the new coach to CLEAN HOUSE---players and staff.
Once that is complete, we will have a couple of tough years (probably not as bad as this one).
In a couple of years the new coach has the program where he wants it and we become ultra-competitive again!!!

My expectations for the first two years?....To see as much horror and pain caused to the teams We play, To watch their knees shake when the new coach walks out on the field..To completely and totally destroy the rivals that have caused us such grief over the past few years...Oh yeah and at least 9 wins and a bowl game win...I really do not ask for much :p

I want a new attitude and for us to be competitive on the field. If we lose games, so be it, but I want to see our players leave it out there every time.

The new coach will be judged on player development very early. Especially in the area of offensive line production and rushing totals.

People want to see improvement game to game. If that is happening everyone should be happy.

Beat the teams we are supposed to beat. Be competitive in rivalry games, and maybe sneak out a win against UF or bama.

Change the culture... Develop talent...

Do these two things quickly, and winning returns in those two years.

Do those things over a sustained 4 years, and championship caliber football will be seen on Neyland's turf again.

First things first though, hire a coach on a mission.

We will be the one of the first sec teams, probably along with auburn, who will be looking for a coach with the espn money. We have the proper boosters and the espn money to spend alot of money. I don't think im "out of my mind" to think we will put alot of money on the table and i think our facilities speak for themselves of how much UT cares about the success of the football program.

there is no reason to think we could not get 9-10 wins every year no matter who the coach is. Our soph class is AMAZING and the incoming class really looks good aswell.

I would love to see a win against FLA in the first two years, preferably next year for Tebow's senior year in the swamp.

For me, wins and losses will not be the primary thing I look at in our new coach's first 2 years of tenure. What I will be looking at are things like...

1.) Are we competitive? I dont' expect us to come out and beat Ga, Al, and Fl right away. But I want to at least look like we belong on the same field with them. It's easier to take losses when you know our guys leave it all on the field. By year 3 and 4 is when I start expecting consistent wins over "the big 3."

2.) Are we disciplined? Like #1 on Neyland's 7 maxims says. "The team that make the fewest mistakes will win." I want to see a dramatic decrease in turnovers and penalties.

3.) Have special teams improved? I will be very curious to see if our new coach hires a special teams coach. If so, and he knows what he's doing, this should take care of our past special team woes.

4.) Orchestrate some blow outs!! Will we keep our foot on the throttle for 60 min and not sit on leads? Every other good team in the nation seems to hang 40+ on teams. Why can't we?

5.) Will we not be afraid to play the most talented as opposed to the ones with the most seniority?
