HC job openings, if any, out there that CBJ would be considered for?

Notre Dame? Although, I assume they will shoot much higher to start.

Oregon? Seems like CBJ's system would be a good fit there and gets him out of the SEC pressure cooker.

Maryland? May be a step down for CBJ, but again if the money is comparable and it gets him out of the SEC grind he might consider it.

Houston? Good money, much less pressure.

I'm sure I'm leaving some out and that some may open up based on what happens at schools like UTjr. and LSU.

Why would we even be talking about this? I don't want to lose Butch to anyone. Some of you never cease to amaze me. Do we need to replace some coordinators? You bet, but Butch needs to stay.

I have seen posts like this a lot. Why? Is there a rumor Butch may be looking to leave?

Every year about this time it goes from Butch sucks and Fahr Butch to Oh my, he may leave.

Butch isn't going anywhere--nobody is calling. Additionally, I will be shocked if he makes a single change to his "BSIA"

Bama fans would love to see Butch leave. I've had several tell me they fear Butch in coming years will have UT in position to challenge them every year like Fulmer. They believe injuries spared them a loss to us this year. Sounds about right.

No, because we have a lot of idiots on this board. Butch is going nowhere, not this year at least.

How is this any more certain than people speculating if he'll leave? Unless you personally know the guy, who really knows? If the price is right anybody will make a move. Maybe butch realizes he is at his ceiling in the SEC. If he couldn't win the east this year, he never will.

So the assumption that he's staying is far greater than stupid speculation about him leaving, when there is no evidence to support that idea. Jones has improved the program, so stop whining about the SEC east.

He may have improved the program but what is the benchmark? Derek Dooley? Sure they're improved over Dooley, but you are settling for average if you don't think there's reason to "whine" about not winning the east this year. Mason has Vandy improving each season from his first until now, that doesn't necessarily correlate with being good.

Sounds like you know a LOT about coaching. When Butch gets fired, like you want, will you be willing to take over his spot? Regale us all with your playing / coaching background on the college level. Gimme 5 minutes, I want to make some popcorn and grab a Coke. :thud:

Yep....if you've never coached you absolutely cannot voice an opinion on coaching. Thats why only Presidents can vote for President.

but the crazies have been out for the last couple of weeks with idiotic threads like this one.

You got that right. CRAZIES! I am as disappointed as anyone about not getting to the SECCG, but I know that we need CBJ to stick around.

Honestly just think OP was trying to have a logical discussion of reasonable schools that might call Butch if they had a HC opening. Don't even think he mentioned he wanted him fired. Just think he wanted to know who may call him.

Are you serious? I live in Alabama and never heard one who doesn't say the exact same thing- Butch is a decent coach but will NEVER will an SEC championship. In fact all my friends (Ole Miss, AU, AL, GA) say the same thing. 'He's not an SEC Championship coach' Everyone!

If we don't basically wheel half the team out there straight from the hospital, I don't think we win still but it's a closer ball game. I don't think that sounds too far fetched.

As far as them actually saying that though, that might be a different story. The statement I made is strictly an opinion. They may have still ran us out of the stadium.

We are trying to start the rumor in hopes that it comes true lol.

If we finish the season 9-3 I see nothing to be worried about. That's a great year all things considered (mainly injuries).

If Butch starts dropping off in upcoming season then we will most likely be a 7-5 team.

Let's just ride it out. Enjoy the games.

DJ Durkin isn't going anywhere at Maryland, however I could see Jones running back to the AAC and taking that Houston job.

Lol. You're telling me that ANY Alabama fan fears Butch after the 39 point shellacking they just put on us in Neyland? I don't believe you.
