Hey VN,

I realize that football is not happening right now, and a lot has been ruined and cancelled and pushed back. I'm in my last semester of nursing school, and my classes have been cancelled, I am having to do everything on line and have no clue when I am gonna get to take my boards because the testing centers are all closed. My graduation and pinning ceremony that I was incredibly excited about was cancelled. I was looking forward to my son seeing his dad accomplish something big.

My wife and I are expecting a baby at the end of May, and we had to cancel all of our baby showers, so we arent sure what we will have for this kid.

And all of us have had things drastically change.

BUT, (and I know this isn't football related), what are some of the little things you've become thankful for the past few days since this whole mess got started?

What has this virus allowed you to get back? More time with family? Time to catch up around the house?

What are you thankful for right now? So much negativity, I just wanted to see what my Vol Family was thankful for in the midst of all of this.

Love you all, this site is always the best, and has meant a lot to me over the years.

Shouldn't go out to eat.
Can't get necessary training, to do my job.
Yet, I am still expected to do my job.
You take your life, and others' lives, into your hands, just to get groceries.
Shouldn't be visiting family, especially your older family members.
No sports, worth watching.
I am blessed to be healthy, and have a wonderful wife, who I enjoy spending time with.
No one, in my family, that I know of, has gotten covid-19, at this point.

@TNHopeful505, you are going to have a hell of a job and going to be in great demand....
Thankfully I accepted a job last week at a rehabilitation hospital. Going to help people learn to live again. I'm blessed that they will let me start work before I get my license and then give me a huge raise when ever I do.

However, yes, appreciate the nurses and doctors right now, and their families. It's been rough on many.

My job usually has me traveling about 50% of the time. When I was home, I worked remotely already. The current situation has not impacted my ability to do my job remotely at all. I am thankful for that.

Most importantly, I am able to spend a lot more time with my family now. Having dinner at home together every night has been wonderful.

@TNHopeful505 Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. Nurses are in high demand all the time and their roles are critical. My wife is a nursing supervisor at a local hospital and loves her career choice.

Doctors: No sleep, No time off, No family, and no food
Nurses: spit on, cursed, still having to smile, along with everything the doctors have
First responders: out in it everyday, keeping folks safe, no food, no thank you
Truck drivers: endless loads, higher demands, no food services, under appreciated
Military: transporting critically ill from one place to another, no family, no time off
Teachers: cleaning schools, making tests, worksheets, and learning new technologies to keep the kids on track
Custodians: Cleaning schools, cleaning work areas, bathrooms, recreation spots, and equipment
Janitors: cleaning colleges, dorms, auditoriums, and everything in between. It may seem like these are pointless jobs but they’re just as important

I’m forgetting a lot I know but that’s at least a start.
Thank you.

Stay clean, stay smart, stay safe.

I'm afraid my computer is going to catch a virus in the midst of all this. But not yet. #thankfulness
Stay away from the Chinese, Italian and Iranian Corona Porn and it should be fine.

And thankful that I got to buy some toilet paper at Walmart today. They had employees at each end of the aisle and would only let you buy one package of TP and one package of paper towels. Okay for a couple of weeks now with the quantity we have at the moment. 3 adults and 1 small child at home.
Was really thinking that I should have bought a package of terry cloth shop towels I saw at Lowes last week, lol

Oh my gosh? Did we go to the same Walmart? Exact same thing at our local store plus they counted your cart in self checkout and leaving the store, counted again. Guess they’re doing it everywhere.

I saw a report on TV from NY and the reporter said they brought in a pallet of Clorox wipes and someone wanted to buy the whole pallet but it was limited to just 2. Crazy world

Add one to your nurse list: Physically threatened and assaulted. My wifey is an ER nurse, certified trauma and emergency nursing, she carries a Masters in Nursing Education. A little over a month ago she asked a patient to quit laying on the floor as it was not sanitary. He blew up., jumped up, threatened her physically, cops arrived, could not or would do anything, as it was just words. He told her he was calling his girl gang to take care of her. An hour later his mama and sister arrived to take care of the nurse causing them problems, screaming and yelling again with threats hurled, cops arrive and say unless physically assaulted nothing could be done. For her own protection as this girl gang now sits in the ER waiting for an opportunity to jump wifey, have moved her to an administrative position. Wifey is not only a RN in civilian life, she is a retired USAF medic. I can count on fingers of two hands the number of people that have expired under her care in twenty years. If she got her hands on you in the ER you left there living almost every time, you might expire in surgery or on the way there, but in that ER she was a life saver.

And now because we have people that will not act in a civilized manner and have decided to beat people down and put it on video for likes, this life saver is on a computer not working her magical talent God gave her.

My wife had to have her bladder removed last year, and has been fighting infection ever since. Not just take an antibiotic infection, her Dr told her they had to do something, or it would end up killing her, she has lupus also. They were certain they found what was fueling the infection, and Wednesday we went to Atlanta for surgery. Of course we didn't want to be down there because of this virus, but like I said, it was vitally important. She is doing great, the best I've ever seen her do with a surgery. She's hurting some from the cutting, but doing great. The Dr told me she was very hopeful that this would help. Sure I'm concerned about the virus and economy, but after the past year watching her fight this, (did a whole month of IV antibiotics in January), I'm very optimistic. Even in the mess we're in, I'm thankful for this, and many blessings.
