What are the actual changes!

Good thing we only won by 55-0. Otherwise, we would need a whole new staff.

Are you suggesting that the baseline we should measure ourselves against is a 3-5 FCS team?

I don't think we've fallen that far...jeez

CBJ keeps his staff together. Look at his history. Next stop ACC.

If this team wins the east, there won't be any changes. Frankly, if we only lose one more and considering the injuries, I don't think Butch will feel the need to change things.

Debord
S&C coach (forgot his name)

These are the only two right now I see realistically being gone after this year. Maybe Mahoney and Azzani.

I feel like Debord was hired to groom one of the assistants to become OC. For some reason Jones seems to love ZA so that's probably going to happen. It may be a blessing in disguise if we are able to land a great WR coach. Anybody hired as OC is going to be running Jones' plays anyway so the play calling won't really change whoever is OC.

What's wrong with the S&C coach? Am I missing something?

We have a s/c program that does no speed training. We for one had a speed coach help some of our guy and others who wanted to participate. Also a reason Hurd went outside the program to train some too. The kids bodies lack development, and how can you get change by firing a guy and hiring his top asst? Like the poster said above clean house on offense except Gillespie and Scott. On defense the Dbs need change asap guys like Martin are so frustrated and have been since T. Fair left. Technique is everything with Dbs and our guys play chase and never look for the ball. We often see yellow flags and PIs called.

I still believe Butchs willingness to make needed changes will define his length of tenure. First and foremost the most important position on the team needs to have a quality coach and hasn't had a true quarterback coach, I believe it is because the belief is the system will take care of the position but it will not. I also agree with De1, several positions need to be changed offensively and making ZA coordinator fixes nothing.

I have not heard one thing about being unhappy with S&C coach who was put in the job about a year ago due to philosophy being in synch with Butch. Now maybe he gets changed but I would be totally shocked. Safer than anyone not named Shoop IMO

Agree. Fans will call for changes regardless. If TN wins out it is very unlikely Butch makes staff changes.

GO VOLS!!!

"Throw the ole medicine ball around 40 times a day and a teaspoonful of cod liver oil will prevent those knee injuries and cussions!"

Until Butch Jones is gone it won't matter on offense. In his own words, "the process is infallible." He will never change this offensive scheme which IMO isn't sustainable in the SEC. Look at the teams in the West that runs pro style offenses. The SEC isn't flash and pizzazz. It's big boy smash your face in football. That's why I don't think he will ever get anything done here.

That's why Saban went to a read option offense similar to Tennessee, right? If bama did not transition from the pro style over the last couple of years they would be in LSU's shoes and Saban would be on the hot seat. He was forward thinking enough to realize that.
Really anyone who understands football can see that Alabama is not any better than UT on offense. It is defensively that they miles ahead, they are NFL caliber on D. Their defense drives their offense.

You obviouly have no background or experience in S and C. Lawson's philosophy(which remains in his absence) is training for speed and explosive strength. This was pioneered by old Eastern Block countries (Soviet Union, East Germany, etc.). Speed through explosive training is the emphasis of these programs, unlike traditional US strength programs which emphasize mass and endurance (repping 225 is an example, this tests endurance and not football level stength).
Hurd was actually less explosive and slower this season. That may be due to injuries or incorrect training.

No. But the many CEOs (self-appointed) of Tennessee football need someone to blame for the multitude of injuries. They count their many years of playing NCAA football on PlayStation as actual football experience.

But how can that be? Hurd ran 23 MPH on the treadmill this offseason.

Oxymoron..."Volnation" and "I think". Thread after thread of arm chair/Monday morning quarterbacks offering up coaching changes. Laughable. We are lucky Butch willing to put up with the crap. Bama fans would lynch "negative" posters.

Why would Bama have negative posters?
Bama fans on the other hand would of lynched their coach if their team had played as bad as UT for 8 games and lost to a SC
