Plenty of posters in here with solid insider info. Any word on what's being said inside the program about the future?

Not likely CBJ is leaving, but any potential shake ups on the staff?

I'll not be surprised to see several coaches gone, but we're stuck with Butch for 1, and most likely 2 years unless he left on his on.

I hope the quality position coaches we have go ahead and leave so they can save their careers. When this thing blows up next season it's gonna get ugly. Can't wait for the run option up the middle with Dormady. Begging to be fired for 10 million.

Agreed. My concern is with CBJ doing just enough to squeak by in 2017 and convince the administration to give him one more year.

Atlanta Vol made some interesting comments, said that we've got a coaching search "committee" in place, in which CPF is a very active participant. Also said he believes Butch is gone in 2 years.

The unfortunate inference there is that Butch is here for 2 more years.

I'm inside my house right now --

and I'm hearing texts from a Vandy fan friend that Jones doesn't have the team organized well enough / and just hasn't been good for Tenn afterall / but that we do have some excellent players.

I can't offer any hope. No matter what changes he says he's willing to make, his actions speak much louder. Worst end of game management I've seen in 20 years and then won't even face the media. Even if he's here next year, he's done. He's being ridiculed by every media outlet in a very overt way. Tennessee football is in a bad way in national perception and in reality. Just a really bad deal for us right now.

Blackburn won't be fooled by this lingoistic, stubborn fraud. Clean house. Hire Cutcliffe. Bring back the Chief. Go out and get the best strength coach in the country. Win again.

JAV, think he bolts for another job...even if it's a downgrade?
Yes. Not sure where he would go but he's got the look and sound of a man who's ready to get out. I wouldn't rule out a move to any power 5 school. I'm not sure Houston wants a Butch type coach. That job takes a different personality than the one possessed by Butch to be successful.

Am I wrong in thinking Blackburn was instrumental in bringing him here? Seriously asking, I seem to remember hearing that

Chief?

Seriously? He had a firm hand in planting Sumlin squarely on the hot seat this season. Aggies defense is somehow much much worse than ours.

Every VN voice should be lifted in fervent prayer that David Blackburn gets the AD job. If anyone has any doubt that he is exactly what we need, simply look at his history, and his resume. He is all Vol, and he is a winner.

And he is going to have his work cut out for him in his first 2 years as AD. Football is not the only athletic program that has gone stagnant at UT, but it is the milk cow, and he'll have to tackle that problem early on.

If Blackburn gets the job, the 2017 UT Vols football team will be Lyle Jones' farewell tour. And not a moment too soon.

Go Vols.

I think traditionalists would be really happy with Cut as HC and JBC as OC. Can anyone else say QB development?

Negative. That plan is not worth pursuing.
