What else is there to do on Orange and White game day? Meet players, coaches, cheerleaders, etc? Do they have concessions and or souvenirs available?

They do an autograph session before the game but I would recommend getting there early. On a side note Derek Barnett is having a signing at Alumni Hall in Turkey Creek from 1130-1. In the past there has always been concessions and souvenir stands open.

It is a practice. But it does give the fans a chance to see them compete in a limited scrimmage environment. I have certain things I look for, specifically some of the matchups. I always check out the OL vs DL. For me, that is decent measure of how far they have come. This year the WRs will bear watching. I'll be paying extra attention to Calloway and Williams.

We make the 2.5 hr trek every year for the following reasons:

- Spend the day with buddies in Knoxville.
- Be inside the stadium
- Be around other Vol fans
- Get great photos around campus (if the weather's nice)
- Act like the scrimmage/practice itself means anything (which it doesn't)

WR, QB, RB, etc plays great = you never hear about him again.
WR, QB, RB, etc does bad = has a decent season (been a while).

Spring = "Wow, the offense looks great."
Fall = "Turns out the defense sucked."
and vice versa

Been doing this for >15 years with eerily similar results.

We go because its free! Does anyone know if they are doing the flag football game at halftime and which former players will be playing? On a related note I wish they would coordinate the orange and white game with softball and baseball and make it a weekend where all 3 teams would be playing at home. I would love to see it a weekend of UT sports.

I heard Derek Barnett, Cam sutton, Alvin Kamara and Josh Dobbs were doing an autograph signing at Uptown Bar on the strip. Not sure what time but oNE might could call for details. If true, those are 4 great VFLs.

Wonder if they are getting paid for it -- Kamara autographs were going for $10 each at Sports Treasures on the 23rd

I don't find the Orange and White "game" very gratifying. Might as well have a Bouncey Bounce, inflatable Slide of Death, and a "Kiss Your Sister" booth.

(Come to think about it, maybe they have all those things and I just haven't seen it on the boob tube.)

I think you're confusing it with the Alabama spring practice

Not logistically possible. How would they play the Saturday games?

for people wanting more of a true spring game I have one number for you: 2.

2 scholarship RBs total (one is hurt)
2 healthy DTs (neither expected to be a starter)
2 healthy safeties (one is the only returning starter you have in the secondary)

now do people see why we don't run a more complete game?
