I know there has been a lot of discussion of coaches and differing opinions of schemes that might or might not work in the SEC, but what do you think of Mike Leach's offense? I've seen it shutdown a few times, but I've also seen it explode more often than not and they put up some pretty amazing numbers against some pretty good teams. In their loss to Oklahoma State Saturday they put up 718 Total yards in the loss. I know on the flipside they gave up over 300 yards rushing on the ground and still lost the game. But I'm just wandering, what if, with TN's talent and a good defensive coordinator (mandatory), could we be feared in the SEC or would it be a bust?
I know there was a lot of speculation as to where Urban's offensive system could thrive and it seems to be doing ok. I wonder the same about Leach's system.

I believe in 2005 Texas Tech managed to put up about the same point total against Bama that UT's mighty offense did.

Please, no, against the consistent competition of the SEC every week would be an adventure to move the ball. SEC defenses are too quick

Leach is a genius, and has done as well at TT as anyone can possibly do. If he were the head coach at Texas right now, the Oklahoma/Texas game would be the game of the year to watch. It is next to impossible to recruit in Lubbock Tx.

what Leach has done at TT is nothing short of a miracle. Lex, you write like someone that's been to Lubbock. I can tell you that if Leach can convince kids with ability to spend four years there, he could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.

I have been to the "Land of Brisket". I dated a debutante from Plainview (big mistake). I have even ridden the Sad Monkey RR.
