Tony Dungy? He's has outstanding character and is a fantastic coach. Maybe later, Peyton would retire from the NFL and be OC or QB coach. Is Dungy completely off the table or is this a possibility? I would hate for UT to hire another dirtbag just for wins but I don't have any say so in the matter. What are your thoughts VN?

GBO!

Guess you hadn't heard Gruden agreed to $31.5 million over 6 years. Gosh...have you been living under a rock?

Dungy said he was not coaching again at the pro or college level today on the Dan Patrick show. Great coach and better man!

Tony would be a good one, but he isn't going anywhere. Still would have the questions about recruiting etc., but he'd be a fine coach.

With all these pipe dream threads, why not go after Tony Dungy. Coach Dungy rebuilt Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl Contender that Gruden won with and then built the Colt program from last place to the top. He is a class act that has shown a propensity to work with youth. I know he retired after the death of his son, but maybe he would be interested to get back into coaching where he can help youth become model citizens and be a father figure to many kids that don't have them. Think about recruiting with Coach Dungy. What mother wouldn't want her child playing for Coach Dungy.
If we are going to swing the bat, go for a sure thing plus Peyton would certainly help in the contract negotiations.

I like Dungry, but he said as recently as yesterday that there is no amount of money that could get him into coaching for at least the next 3-4 years. He said after that he would be "too old" but left the door open a little bit. Unfortunately he's 10 times the pipe dream that Gruden is.

My wish list: Dungy, Manning (down the road), Gruden. Dungy would be my first choice. ( if he would even entertain coming out of retirement) But Gruden would be awesome too!I hope the rumors are true, if not this board can make the Gruden stuff true. You know Hart has his hand on the pulse!...I hope

If I remember correctly he did come here and speak to the football team a couple years ago. Or was it Tomlin or Cowherd?
