Wow... the football team was bad enough(I won't talk about it) but now the Bball team has been embarrassed 3 times on National TV losing to 3 unranked opponents(Temple, Kansas, and Gonzaga.) The only team that we have beaten that is worth some thing is G'town.

you must be new to UT basketball if those losses embarrass you. Bad yes but not bad enough to start a thread like this about

correction, Marquette is ranked 15th and Kansas and Gonzaga should and will be ranked...

The college basketball season doesn't mean a whole lot if you do well in the tourney...that's the beauty

No no no, I'm not but we started ranked 12 and got as high as 8. Now we are going to be unranked. I guess I'm just ticked off more because of the expectations that both teams had.

Okay, yeah forgot about Marquette. But Gonzaga had lost like 4 straight right?

Someone has never watched Buzz Ball. If that embarrasses you, you should try losing to George Mason in the first round of the NIT, and see if you feel the same way.

Buzz ball was a godsend compared to the abortion known as the Wade Houston experiment

Hopson has been a bust so far no matter how you cut it...we can still be good, but we are young and we have no identity.

PLEASE PLAY DEFENSE, SOON!

Anyone who expected the basketball team to dominate this year clearly wasn't thinking. They're young and inexperienced.

They can't shoot a lick, but they do play really hard. There's always the tourney, if we can manage to get in.

With all due respect, have you been a fan of TN basketball for any length of time. We're young and still coming into our own. This is the most exciting time for TN basketball in 25 years. We'll be just fine. CBP will have this team ready in time for March. Not saying we will win it all, but we'll hold up our end.

I see. 65-90 in his 5 years. I wouldn't know much about that though, seeing as he started his tenure about a month or two after I was born.

we just have a young team that can't shoot against a zone and hasn't learned how to play defense

Ray Mears won ugly back in the day of the four corners before the shot clock.
Don Devoe was a good coach

Thats about right...they go braindead many times on both sides of the floor...they have got to learn to play better perimeter defense, and defense overall of course, but when we play against teams that can shoot the 3 ball good, we struggle....throw in a bad night of shooting from the outside and we really have problems...the problem with this year is that we cant shoot our way back into games like we could the last three years with Lofton and Smith...wish we could:cray:

Until someone explains to this team what PLAYING DEFENSE is they are going no place fast.

Yeah we need to play defense and also start hitting more 3's or quit taking so damn many. I was so pissed when Bobby Maze took that three late in regulation last time. That was the dumbest ****ing shot ever. I think we were down by 2 at that point and this idiot pulls up a contested 3? WTF is dude thinking?

Watching that game last night sucked!!!! That being said, the past few games I can not help but think if we had a big guy we could stick in the middle it would help. Then it occurred to be that we signed one last year, right? Why is he not playing? :dunno:

I agree, it has been a very tough year so far for men's athletics. The only thing that got me through football season was looking forward to an awesome basketball season. I didn't expect them to be undefeated, but I did expect that record to be 11-2 going into conference play. I also agree that losing to three unranked teams doesn't bold real well for us. If we could have 10-6 in the conference right now, I would take it, but I'm not so sure we can get to the 20 win plateau this year with the way we are playing.

Plus the baseball team isn't expected to do much, the men's hope lies on the Track and Field team.
