The Waffle House of course. Of course there's the rare visits to Dennys or Huddle House since there's none that are local.
If I had three wishes, on of them would be to turn all the local IHOPs into Denny's. Luckily we have no shortage of Waffle Houses.

Yeah,I love Dennys whenever I get to go. There's too many Waffle Houses around here as well. The last Dennys I went to was close to Charlotte.

I think the last one I went to was in Myrtle Beach. The closest one to here is Asheville I think. Don't get me wrong I love Waffle house. I also enjoy some Perkins. But not having a Denny's in the Tri anymore is really annoying.

The IHOP closest to my house is awful. I have given it many chances and I really don't know how it stays in business.
I have in uncle that swears by them. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why. I have people tell me they used to be good. But I've never been to one that wasn't terrible.

The first few times I went when it opened it was great but it fell off quick fast and in a hurry.

We went in one time for breakfast at a normal time and the place wasn't even half full and they told us it would be a 30 min wait. I don't know if they were short staffed or what. It didn't look like they were but maybe they were in the kitchen.

It must depend on who is running the franchise in a particular area. Because I do run into people that think they're the best resturant of that type. That's sure not been my experience though.

WH is privately owned and very hands on. I think that's why they're so consistent. Denny's and Perkins do franchises and I've had better experiences with them than IHOP. But my sample size is low for those 2. I've been to lots of different WH's though. They are all the same.

We had a Huddle House in Hartwell that was excellent. And did not have a WH. That was next town over at the interstate. I preferred HH at one time because they served the corned beef hash for breakfast. Eventually off the menu so I quit going as often. The HH in Cookeville/Baxter needs the health department to shut it down. I walked in one morning, took two steps and turned around. Whatever franchisee owns that store should be ashamed.

IHOP used to be top of hte pile. They are nasty now. Last time I went to one they had to be more unclean than Golden corral. we moved here in 2014 and it was just fine. We won't even walk in there anymore. The GM in any location of any chain makes all the difference. And if it's a franchise or corporate store.

One of my neices and her husband are both up and coming big shots at WH Corporate in ATL, and they got sent to Ashville for a while for him to straighten out all the area stores. Really nice corporate career path program with WH if your willing to do the one year in a store. They love working for WH Corporate.
