Check out this article about Wes Brown over on Gridscape.

Scout.com: Brown gets unexpected call from the NFL

If the link doesn't work, the article can be found on the front page. I wish we could take his attitude and instill it in our current players. He is one of my all time favorites just by the way he carried himself and how he always gave it his all even when he was in terrible pain.

Good article. He definitely gave all he had to UT football. As effective as he was his Sr. year on 2 bad knees it seems like he would have been a solid pro prospect if he had stayed healthy.

Great article, and am happy that he realizes that he will be ok without making it in the NFL.

Wish him the best of luck!

Go Vols!

Good for him!! I'm sure a lot of Vol fans would love to watch him play on Sundays, but he made the right decision. I wish you all the best in life, Mr. Brown, and would like to sincerely thank you for wearing the Orange with pride, dignity, and heart!

That play where you carried an opposing player on your back into the endzone for a pick 6 will forever be etched in my memory!!!

Again, many thanks!!!

That's an instant Vol legend right there. His last play at Neyland.

I don't think there is a better way to end your football career.

What an amazing play by a special player. Thank you for being ALL-VOL, Wes. Best of luck in whatever you do.

Wow - what a tough phone call - to have to say no to the NFL because your knees can't take it. A lot of people would let it get them down, but it sounds like he took it very positively .... great attitude.

You don't have to recruit the bleeding orange. They'll walk on if they have to. Forget the number of stars, it's players with heart who love the Vol tradition that we need.

I felt honored to be there that night...I also remember wanting to come out of the stands during the AUBURN game when he got chopped blocked because of his knees

thats an awesome story. I hope that he gets his knees healthy so he can enjoy his life physically. Makes you wonder how many kids have problems like this.

Seeing that vid still felt like watching it for the first time. I feel bad for this young man that he can play at the next level but he got to do what many kids don't get to do.....he got to suit up and play in the UT uniform and become a UT legend! Wes gave his all to Tennessee and he will be remembered in the fan's hearts!

Wes and Josh McNeil are in the same boar. Both bleed O&W, and both went through hell here. Two great all-time Vols!!
