How do you figure that? UT is in a position where it needs UF to lose (in addition to UT winning out). Prior to Oct. 8th UT controlled it's own destiny.

Hyperbole.

No Vols fans ever considered it "monumental" to beat Vandy, Kentucky, and Mizzou.

An improvement over (then-existing) conditions, sure. But never monumental.

Finding yourself deep in a valley doesn't mean you suddenly start thinking the top of the nearest hill is the continental divide. Our memories aren't that short. We still knew where we came from.
