The time some of us have been waiting for and others have been dreading is now upon us...

Those of you celebrating this and cheering on the hiring of a new coach I hope you're ready for what's in store...

Specifically...I hope you're not on here next year when we are 3-9 after getting creamed by everyone including Vandy calling for the new coaches head and reminiscing about the glory days under Fulmer...

Those of you celebrating like this will mean an immediate return to glory need to take a look at what's happening at Michigan right now....

Brilliant post -- not. We are going to be 3-9 this year.

I dont expect an immediate return to glory but just some improvement is what I would expect.

at least we'll find a coach to move this team forward. we have good recruits coming in next year (hopefully they'll stay committed) and maybe the new coach will have a lot to work with. nobody expects a championship in the first year of a new regime.

It might be better, it might be worse, but at least it will be different.

I really believe good days are ahead though

You're one of the most uninformed blabbering poster's on the VN. Look at the type of offense Rich Rod runs. Do you think he had a Pat White or a Steve Slaton waiting for him this year at UM?

I can't imagine this team being any worse next year.

I bet the new coach beats UCLA by 25 to open things up.

Stupid. Those detractors that say "we will lose next year" hey!! we are losing THIS year!! Get over it, it was time for a change and i thank Mike Hamilton for doing his duty.
Thank you Fulmer for the memories i wish you well, but its time to move foward.

I have wanted this to happen, but I take no satisfaction in it. It is a painful experience, regardless.

I take complete satisfaction in knowing I gave my all for Tennessee...I pulled for us to lose so this would happen.

You are Welcome.

I don't think, nor do i think a lot of people expect us to be a national championship team next year. I mean look at Bama, what they won and lost some tough games last year....and now as Saban's second year as the coach, they are undefeated.

I think we will be ok next year, at least have a winning record if not tied....but the years after next is what i really look forward too!

Thats a pretty strong statement coming from someone I've never personally conversed with on here

You all can say what you want....I guarantee there will be plenty of idiots on here next year blasting the new coach when we are as bad or worse than this year

I really didn't mean that I don't want this...I have wanted it for a long time...

It just irked me to see some people saying Go Vols!!

I expect some people cheering today will be blasting the new guy this time next year...

I know the night is darkest just before dawn and all of that but this is going to be a slow process even if our administration gets the coaching search right the first time

Have you seen UM's recruiting class? Coach Rod's spread will be unstoppable in the next year or wo. It is a huge jump going from a ypical pro-style offense o a spread offense, and he has recruited what he needs. Watch out for Michigan in the next couple of years!
