Well, I Guess Phil Wont Rep The Vols Anymore

I'm not sure about the Majors situation, but don't you think 2 losing seasons in 4 years at UT is "in the ground"? Also, I am willing to bet Kiffin and Crew will be better recruiters than Majors was. Again, I am not that familiar with the 80's/early 90's Vols, so I may be wrong.

Recruiting was what won Johnny Majors his national championship at Pitt...

its obvious, you have no clue about what in the ground is. Lets wait and see if it takes these next coaches as long to get it back as it took Majors. he took over when it was in the ground

In the ground is certainly relative, but the absolute beatings at the hands of our true competition for the SEC title suggest we weren't far.

His tack toward the new crowd and his comments toward same have been less than ideal.

I think it's more directed toward Hamilton, not so much the coaching staff

I haven't seen or read any direct qutotes toward the coaches

They're there. He doesn't have much supportive to say. But, you know, he bleeds orange.

I will probably catch alot of flack for saying this, but i would love for them to bring Coach Fulmer back to do a pre game locker room talk before the Alabama game to tell them them of the history and releveance and passion of the rivalry. I am afraid some of that will be lost with the new staff i think that would be beneficial to not only getting the players fired up but to also get the staff energized with passion and pagentry that this game has and the importance it holds with Tennessee people. However, i realize he is probably too bitter to do this. Before everyone piles on me i am not a Kiffin hater and i am very excited about our new staff, however people that followed the vols around the late 90's and seen all the firsts that happened under Coach Fulmer and taking the step to the next level i dont understand the hatred , disappointment yes.. it was pretty special to get that Alabama Monkey off our back after a decade and the national championship season speaks for its self, and every one that calls themselve a vol fan couldnt have hated Coach Fulmer as the team cheered "We Don't Give A Damn 'Bout The Whole State Of Alabama Were From Tenessee" in the locker room following that Bama victory(It doesnt get better than that. . So say What you want about the man he is passionate and Has bleed orange his whole life.

Ignoring, for the moment, the spelling and grammatical errors.....

(sigh)

Personally, I wouldn't bring Fulmer back for a pre-game, halftime, or post-game speech, under any circumstances. Think about it...if he still had any ability to motivate the team, would we have lost to, say, Wyoming?

Fulmer is gone. Accept it, or follow him. Please.

'Nuff said. Go Vols.

Tutor you? No. What's the point?

For the record, I'm not a "spelling Nazi". However, if you choose to post, and your post is littered with "spelling and grammatical errors", it kind of makes one (in this case, me) wonder if you have any idea what you're talking about.

Welcome to the board. Oh..and it's "their supposed superiority". Hope you're not offended.

Go Vols.
