Gone are the days when America was distinguished. We’re a welfare state, a perfect dichotomy of haves and have nots.

All the while pseudo-intellectuals discuss big bird and Jay-Z, Rome burns.

Enjoy

I can't believe you are calling Willard a pseudo-intellectual. He is the person that started the Big Bird discussion.

2% of the federal budget sure is a welfare state, while 28% goes to the Military Industrial Complex, which Eisenhower would be rolling in his grave over. Get off mainstream media for a bit.

We've been a dichotomy of haves and have nots for the better part of a century. That is not new at all.

What has changed is that enough of the have nots are no longer fooled by the trickeration and misdirection of the haves.

This election was, in the end, about the middle class sticking up for itself.

How is electing Obama going to assist that? Spend more govt money we don't have? Make it harder and more costly for business owners to succeed?

so if food stamps are not welfare, then what is the 4% then. can you find out where all that money goes.

Food stamps are good for the economy.

Just like the stimulus was going to get us to 4% growth and 5% unemployment.

Trust to the community organizer when it comes to the economy

Because the plan is for the middle class to also get on that welfare line. Obamacare is just another form of welfare.

This election was about the takers outnumbering the makers.

Click on the link. It explains it all pretty good.

"Welfare is the organized public or private social services for the assistance of disadvantaged groups. Aid could include general Welfare payments, health care through Medicaid, food stamps, special payments for pregnant women and young mothers, and federal and state housing benefits. The Welfare system in the United States began in the 1930s, during the Great Depression. Opponents of Welfare argue that it affects work incentives. "

Ok. the above quote is from your link. do you really think only we spend only 131.9 billion on these, minus foodstamps and unemployment. the number they are using for welfare doesnt include those on foodstamps then in the disclaimer says its part of welfare.

Not counting medicade or unemployment it comes to ~203 billion. Which checks out with that graph (which has an awful color scheme btw) if we assume that the other is all medicade and unemployment. Only point I'm trying to make is that this isn't a "welfare" state. Is the system perfect, God no, but is it the primary issue dragging the country down and the reason Obama won the election, no way.

Ironic, isn't it? They'll be the first to lose with Obamanomics.
