Staley/Smith/Jackson with some reps for Keys
Don’t forget Matthews! He is on the verge on busting out. I think next year he explodes. Just needs to keep working on catching the ball more consistent. But he made some good strides and did show some big flashes late in the season despite a bad Vandy game. Staley is going to be awesome. Jackson and Smith show great promise. We have some talented tight ends as well. GBO

I really believe this one is different. Brandon and Keys look as close to a sure thing as you can get.

We shall see
Nico was perfect for Heupels offense and was destined for the Heisman and good for a natty or two before embarking on a HOF NFL career.

I'd move Matthews to safety. If he doesn't like it, he can move on.

This can't be right. I have been lead to believe that Brandon would hold off on signing and Keys was on flip watch after the Vandy loss and Kiffin going to LSU.
Kids stick by their decisions more these days when that legal tender hits the bank account. All done electronically and not in McDonalds bags to boot.

Matthews gets paid too much to drop so many passes. He dropped at least 4 tds. They'll probably give him a raise 😭. He should reimburse the university. But wait, he's a 5 star

I hope we add some GA and Bama type DL-men. Big, mean, Nasty, with attitudes to match without the reckless driving, and self-centered egos.
Heup's offense scores, but the defense just isn't consistent. Especially the secondary. Hit the portal for DL help and lock down CBs.

I'm banking on him taking a pay cut proposal and hitting the portal.

I don’t remember that. I remember that Chaney wanted Haynes King and Bailey was consolation. Most saw him as a project, even as a 5 star.

TBF, Haynes King bombed out at A&M as well. He's far from that player now at GT though.

I'm convinced that if we somehow cloned Peyton and he reached signing age in 2018 or so that he would have been a bust here

Pruitt demanding an offense from 1953 was a huge problem. Cheney was just doing as he was told

If you have a very good defense and a dominant OL and running game, you can win championships with a walk on QB who can play. That's what Georgia did.
If you have an absolutely dominant offense with a great QB, you can win championships with a mediocre defense. That's what LSU did. There's not just one way to accomplish that goal.

Not the point. The point is Chaney didn’t want Bailey. I think the TE that made Bailey look so good Los washed out.

Harrison Bailey ? lol if you saw his game tape from HS , wasn’t hard to figure that one out. I have a better arm
That does beg the question, how do the recruiting services get it so wrong a lot of times? I remember them saying that Guarantano was the top dual threat qb in the country, and he ended up being the least mobile qb we've ever had. I don't mean to pile on him because I think he was in a terrible offense, but I don't get how the services can be so wrong sometimes.
