My girlfriend and I are thinking about getting a Weimaraner soon. Does anyone have one? What do you think?

My friends have one - nice dog but a little high maintenance relative to a Lab-type dog.

I'm glad Volingham posted first. I thought initially it was some type of beer. I like beer more then dogs.

Aww, I have had 2 in the past. They are the best dogs but do require alot of attention. We couldnt spend a whole lot of time with our last one and he liked to pay us back by eating everything he could and digging holes the size of him in the yard. LOL They are great with kids though and very protective of their family.

We like high energy dogs, we have a boykin spaniel now. We're runners and do half marathons and stuff. We're also big hikers and campers so exercise isn't really a problem. Its good to hear there good with kids!

one of my best friends had one. damn thing was so hyper. ripped a nice Vols fleece I had, so I am sort of biased against them.

The camping and hiking is good! They will love that. Just make sure they get enough of your attention everyday! LOL:eek:k:

They highly recommend crate training.

I have a friend in MO that loves them. BUT, just like Border Collies, Jack Russells, and other hyper breeds........they definetly need a job. As in full time. The destructive side comes out due to boredom. If you have A LOT of time and space, they are great dogs. If not, go with a lab. Or, a turtle, lol.:p
