First off... COLLEGE FOOTBALL STARTED THIS WEEK!!... so therefore I didnt keep up with the boards as much. Sorry for missing stuff.

Current Commits:
  • Texas A&M offers Chris Weatherd. Chris' mom makes him realize that he was a second choice to TAMU. Mom seems to be a VFL.
  • (Previous Week)Weatherd finished with two sacks on six tackles with a pass broken up in Trinity Valley's 24-17 loss to defending NJCAA national champions Iowa Western. The Cardinals are back at it next week against Coffeyville Community College. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Medley had all his kickoffs go for touchbacks and was 3-3 on PATs but was 0-1 on field goals in Marshall County's 34-21 loss to Shelbyville Central. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Lambert tallied three sacks and a forced fumble in a 37-21 win over Blinn. Next up is Snow College. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Gaulden caught five passes for 68 yards with a touchdown in a 28-6 win over Kenwood. He also had 19 tackles. Next up is Marshall County. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Wharton had a monster game and caught nine passes for 202 yards and had three total touchdowns in a 28-6 win over Kenwood. He also had an interception on defense. Next up is Marshall County. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Booth went for five catches for 83 yards and a touchdown in Pike's season opening 41-22 win over North Central. Up next is Cincinnati Moeller. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Creamer finished with 6 catches, including a TD catch, in ECA's 40-6 win over Champagnat Catholic out of Hialeah, Fla. Next up is Banneker High School out of College Park, Ga. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Jalen Hurd ran for 177 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-39 win over Station Camp. He also had an interception on defense. Next up is Henry County. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Jackson didn't play in Blinn's 37-21 loss to Georgia Military College on Saturday due to an injured hamstring. He'll try and give it a go this weekend against Butler Community College. - VQ
  • (Previous Week)Kelly caught four passes for 104 yards and a touchdown in a 35-15 loss to Maryville. He also ran the ball 12 times for 54 yards. He had five total tackles on the night defensively. Next up is Baylor. - VQ
  • Ethan Wolf says he is trying to make it to every home game this year. Says he still gets letters from other schools but is all Vol
  • Jalen Hurd has labrum tear and will undergo surgery. Out for season.
  • Chris Weatherd has torn ligament in leg
  • Helm had 4 catches for 67 yards and 2 TDs
  • Paulk had 233 yards and 3 TDs. Had an 85 yard TD on his first carry.

RB Recruiting:
  • Joe Mixon releases top 5. UT does not make the cut.
  • Ashton Jackson releases top 2 of UT and Purdue. UT still hasnt offered. UT is the school he is most excited about.

WR Recruiting:
  • Ryeshene Bronson top 5 of Miss St, USCe, Arky, USF and UT

Oline Recruiting:
  • "Right now I'm mostly looking at Tennessee, Florida State and the Southern schools," Blair said. "I'm trying to go wherever I have a chance to play right away," Blair said. - Per USCw Rivals
  • Auburn Rivals says Vols closing the gap for Blair
  • JUCO OT Avery Gennesy says its between UT ad UGA for his 5th OV. Will decide after all visits

Dline Recruiting:
  • Lorenzo Featherston releases top 5 of FSU, NCState, Clemson, UT and UNC
  • Cory Thomas releases top 3 of MSU, UT and UF. Supposed to visit the weekend of August 31st, has no ride and goes to Auburn instead
  • JUCO DT Lance McDowell says UT is his favorite. Will OV to UT and Bama. "I already know where I'm going to commit. I just want to give these other schools a chance. I want to see the other schools for myself." Taking visits in November and will commit after his visits.
  • "The father of Andrew Williams checked out Vols practice on Wednesday, as Tennessee remains a contender for the four-star defensive end from McDonough, Ga." - VQ
  • Charles Mosley likely doesnt make it to the AP game, but is for certain to be at the WKU game
  • "On McDowdell, I think he's a take for Tennessee. They would take three juco DTs if the numbers worked out that way. He's not a silent commitment. He really likes Tennessee right now because they are the team recruiting him the hardest. We'll see if anything changes down the road as other teams try and get involved and as he takes visits." - Fortenberry

Current Team:
  • Justus Pickett's final appeal to the NCAA got denied. The former Maryland running back will continue to practice with the team but he will not be eligible to help the Vols this season.
  • The coaches are going to try to redshirt Marcus Jackson. If there is an injury ahead of him, it probably wont work out

Other Notes:
  • rcvol shows up and says "I told you guys he was too thin to play RB." He obviously didnt watch the game and hates Hurd.
  • We beat Austin Peay 45-0 and the world is ending

someone on here, can't remember who, said Charles Mosley is from his high school it is the worst kept secret around school that Charles Mosley will select UT on 10/4. Thanks again for doing these updates.

This. Jackson will be far more valuable to us in 2014 and 15 than this year. At the game it looked like we have a couple of weak spots on our second team OL. It looked to me like Posey was being handled by AP's DT.
