Current Commit News:
• Elliott and Evan Berry commit to the Vols on their Birthday
• Does Weatherd not being an EE effect who we make a push for down the stretch? (Is an EE Linebacker a must?) "I don't think it changes who they recruit. It could make things interesting if some other linebacker(s) wanted to come." - Hubbs
• Cecil Cherry's coach says that FSU, UF and Miami are pushing hard for Cecil, but he is happy with his decision to be a Vol
•
• Dimarya Mixon commits to UT
• Dontavius Blair, Jalen Hurd, Coleman Thomas and Emmanuel Moseley signed their early financial aid agreement papers.
• Derek Barnett Regular Season Highlights Derek Barnett - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl …
• Cecil Cherry now has a twitter account - @cecil_cherry3

WR Recruiting:
• Johnnie Dixon says he will visit Nov 22nd
• Clint Stephens sets OV for Vandy game
• Josh Malone said he wanted to see Dobbs play in person, so if he went to UT, he can see who would be leading the offense and throwing to him. Thought Dobbs did good. Said Butch is trying to get him back on campus and said Butch is dedicating himself to Malone. Says he might make a trip back "because its close by", depends on how his schedule works out.

Oline Recruiting:
• Blake Bars (from TN) is considering transferring out of Michigan
• Alex Bookser set to visit UT for Vandy game
• Fortenberry on Avery Gennesy, "Yes, Tennessee is still a player here. A&M may not be in a position to take him right now so I think that helps Tennessee out some. We'll try and catch up with him and see where the Vols stand because after his OSU visit he said the Buckeyes ad A&M were on top." Fort also said Gennesy, Sharpe and Bookser are really the only three as possible OL takes right now.
• "Just talked to David Sharpe... Tennessee impressed him this weekend and really opened his eyes to what Tennessee has to offer, especially with early playing time. He still plans to take the rest of his visits but it sounds like Tennessee made a good impression." - Fortenberry

LB Recruiting:
• Does Weatherd not being an EE effect who we make a push for down the stretch? (Is an EE Linebacker a must?) "I don't think it changes who they recruit. It could make things interesting if some other linebacker(s) wanted to come." - Hubbs
• Rashaan Evans cancels his visit to UT
• Jakob Johnson scheduled an OV to UT on 11/23 per 247. Top 2 of Wisconsin and UT, but will give UCF a look. Will announce his decision after the season and after his visits. Around December 15th. The coaches plan on taking a trip to Germany to meet with his parents.
• Uzzi on Jakob Johnson, "Thig thinks he is best LB in the country. No joke, they feel this kid is special." "I have had a few conversations with the kid, suprised if he is not a Vol soon, only wildcard would be if FSU jumps in. He has talked to Bjorn Werner too."
• Fortenberry on Jakob Johnson, "No gray shirt for that kid. The kid is a player. 6-4 and gets to the football fast. Definitely a take if he wants in. I'm really surprised more people haven't offered him, plus he's an early enrollee."
• Fortenberry on Jakob Johnson, "Tennessee really likes him as a player, and honestly hard not to blame them. He's 6-4,240-pounds and can run. If you're trying to get the 30 best players available I think you take him. Still surprised more haven't offered, but like Uzzi said, if FSU offers that changes some dynamics but right now they are having some numbers issues of their own."
• "Right now, if Johnson doesn't receive any more offers, Tennessee is the team to beat in my mind. Now, if Florida State offers I think that changes things significantly along with a few other schools." - Fortenberry
• JUCO Dejon Brown set to OV to the Vandy game

DB Recruiting:
• Elliott and Evan Berry commit to the Vols on their Birthday
• DJ Smith top 4 of USCe, Clemson, UGA and UT. Our coaches told him we need guys to come in and play on day 1. He likes the chance to play early.

RB Recruiting:
• Vols offer ASU commit Darrel Williams. He says that even though he's committed to ASU, he's keeping his options open.
• “Everything is still the same,” Scott said. “South Carolina and Tennessee are tied at the top, and I would say N.C. State is third. N.C. State still has a chance, though.” Derrell Scott per Scout
• Dacorius Law visiting for Auburn game. Some profiles say he is committed to Utah, but he says its a miscommunication. He is high on Utah and UT.
• Derrick Green is considering transferring out of Michigan due to unkept promises. Likely landing spots could be Ole Miss or UT
• Jason Howell on Darrel Williams, "Now for some recruiting stuff. I know there was some nervousness when LSU offered as an ATH but from what I hear at least right now that has kind of backfired a bit and it sounds like Tennessee is the team to beat. It's looking good for the Vols right now"
• Hubbs said he thinks Scott is unlikely to be a Vol and that's why you see UT upping the ante with guys like Darell Williams and DJ Law.
• Vols lead for Dacorius Law. Said he liked the Vol Walk, business classrooms, coaches, players and environment. "I liked Utah a lot, they made me feel like it was home. The teachers and coaches made me feel like it was home but for right now it's too far," Law said. "Right now Tennessee, it might be Tennessee at the end of the year. I'm not committing but most likely." Along with Tennessee and Utah, Iowa State and West Virginia will receive official visits but both have a lot of work to do to catch Tennessee. "They are pretty far behind but I'm going to visit to see what they have to say and see what they have to offer," Law said. "But, Tennessee's on top right now." - VQ

Dline Recruiting:
• TX DE Dimarya Mixon says UT is sticking out. Justin Hopkins (247 analyst) predicts him to UT and says he would be surprised if he left Knoxville and is not a Vol
• "At first, I was thinking my decision could come at the end of this month, but anything can happen on trips," Mixon said. "If I feel comfortable and it's a place I feel like I could be at I might go ahead and pull the trigger." - Dimarya Mixon per Rivals
• Rob Cassidy says he wouldnt be surprised if Calvin Heurtelou ends up committed during his visit. Heurtelou says its been a long process and hes ready to get it over. Decision in December at the latest
• We learn that Andrew Williams is actually a package deal. He has an older brother at GA Tech, who will transfer to whatever school Andrew picks, for his final season.
• "Lot of rumblings Mosley may do something in the next week or so. Might be one to watch." - Fortenberry
• JUCO DT Owen Williams says he wants to visit UT before making his decision in January
• Hubbs says there is nothing really going on between Matt Elam and UT
• "On (Dimarya) Mixon, Tennessee looks like the team to beat heading into the weekend, but Auburn is trying to get into the picture along with Oklahoma State and Arizona State. But, we'll be watching Mixon closely on Sunday to see what he says coming out of his visit." - VQ
• "Charles Mosley is a name we continue to hear that could make a decision very soon and the Vols are in the drivers seat there." - VQ
• "Also, Cory Thomas may be speeding up the process as well and could make a decision soon as well and Tennessee seems to be the team to beat there as well." - VQ
• Dimarya Mixon commits to UT
• Abu Lamin raved about his visit. Said that he can see that the future is bright, despite what happened on the field. Has to go home and talk to his mom about some things, but Tennessee is very much in it. Its down to USC and UT and will make a decision in about a week or two. "She's real open to Tennessee but she's kind of asking me, 'You loved South Carolina now you want to go to Tennessee and you like it now that you're there,'" Lamin explained. "So, that's why I've got to sit down with her and just try and see from here point of view and my point and just see how she feels about it because this is hard." - VQ
• It's clear UT wants to get 2 JUCO DT's, do they? "I think so, but you never know with Jucos. They are the team to beat with Reed and I'm not sure what all other visits he's going to take. Then you have Lamin who really likes them, Heurtelou who is down to Tennessee and Missouri, Owen Williams and even though he's not a DT, Pettway is still on the board." - Fortenberry

2015 Recruiting:
• TN WR Van Jefferson grew up Ohio St fan. Likes Coach Z and the way he coaches, talks to him once a week. Like it offense and likes Marquez North. “I definitely believe (Butch Jones) is going to turn it around. The way he is recruiting, they have a top three class coming in after this year, he is definitely doing something big after this year. I might be a part of it.” CBJ sticks out to him and he believes in him. Vic is also recruiting him. - WuTang summarizes Scout article
• MD OL Patrick Allen's early favorites - #Seminoles #Badgers #Vols
• Vols are in top 3 for DC WR Jabari Greenwood, along with Maryland and Rutgers. Vols have not offered yet
• Tim Settle sets commitment date for Oct 18 2014
• Vols are favorite for Keiron Howard
• Free Scout video on Eric Swinney. He breaks down his visits and says he wants to commit before his senior season - Scout.com: Swinney's been on the road
• Fortenberry on QB Lorenzo Nunez and '15 QB recruiting, "I think he's probably a little lower on the board than some guys. I know they really like a kid out in Missouri."
• “I loved my visit, even with the game not turning out so well,” said*Kyle Phillips, a four-star defensive end and the top-ranked player in Tennessee. “There is something different here. It feels like family. I know it will get better in the future.” - Kyle Phillips per Scout

Other Notes:
• Recruits are now allowed to sign a letter early on in the process. The letter is basically a financial agreement that secures the school will uphold the scholarship offer. Once the letter is signed, the school is not aloud to back out of the agreement, but the recruit is able to.
