Current Commit News:
  • Hubbs on Kameel Jackson, "I think there is a discipline reason that he's not playing at Blinn, but Jackson won't say that and the Blinn head coach doesn't return our calls and he's no fan of Tennessee's. I'm going to be a bit surprised if Tennessee ends up signing him."
  • '16 commit Darel Middleton is no longer a part of his football team.
  • Purdue offers Jerome Dews. Dews says he WILL NOT grayshirt.
  • Dewayne Hendrix commits to the Vols

QB Recruiting:
  • "Just as N.C. State is looking at picking off a few commitments from other teams, it also has to keep an eye on its own commitments. One of these is quarterback Jalan McClendon. While McClendon has said all the right things to this point, the fact that Tennessee is the main school pursuing the quarterback has to be causing a bit of stress for the N.C. State coaching staff and fans. The Vols have been one of the hotter recruiting schools in the country right now, and that was before they just knocked off South Carolina. N.C. State may have to work overtime in order to keep McClendon." - Mike Farrell

RB Recruiting:
  • Per VQ, Chris James is likely to visit for the Vandy game.

WR Recruiting:

Linebacker Recruiting:
  • Sharieff Rhaheed told Mizzou scout that he already has a visit lined up with UT, but did not say which date
  • "Tennessee*is a school I have been talking to recently and I want to give them one more look and one more chance," said Evans. (Rashaan Evans) Visiting for Auburn game

OLine Recruiting:
  • Brock Ruble says his top 5 is in no order. Has already visited the schools in his top 5, but will take his OVs to the schools to see if he missed anything. Visiting UT on November 23rd.

DLine Recruiting:
  • "Pettway, a former Alabama defensive end, politely declined to comment on his visit Sunday, but Tennessee seemed to make a strong impression on him during his weekend stay in Knoxville. Ole Miss still is believed to be the team to beat for Pettway, but the Vols appear to have a bit of momentum with him coming out of the weekend. Pettway himself also made a good impression during the visit, and the general consensus seems to be that there are relatively few concerns regarding his character despite the off-field issue that resulted in his dismissal at Alabama earlier this year." - 247
  • Is Cory Thomas a take right now? "I believe so. Big, high school guy that is athletic. He's not planning on doing anything soon, though. Talked to him last night and he plans to take all five visits before doing something." - Fortenberry
  • Fortenberry on Charles Mosley, "Nothing has changed. We did stories on him after each of his past two visits for the South Alabama game and the Georgia game. Tennessee still leads but he wants to see a few more places."
  • Cory Thomas - "Tennessee is in the lead now," he said. "Coach Jones, there is just something about him. He is about to have Tennessee like the old Tennessee. Coach Thig (Tommy Thigpen) and I have grown close since they offered me. I liked it when I went up there. They are losing six or seven defensive lineman."
  • Charles Mosley quotes on Bama and UT - http://www.volnation.com/forum/tenn...-tn-ol-dl-charles-mosley-165.html#post9369554
  • Charles Mosley says the outcome of the UT/Bama game will not affect his decision. Talks to Coach Strip and Coach Jones a lot. They tell him hes their number 1 guy. Talks to the commits a lot and says UT is still #1 and Bama is right behind.
  • JUCO DT Calvin Heurtelou says hes narrowed it down to Mizzou and UT. According to the VQ guys, he is 3rd in line on the JUCO board, behind Lamin and Reed.
  • Fortenberry on Dewayne Hendrix - "I think Tennessee still leads, but Missouri is pushing. He's visiting there this weekend for an official and it's just about two and a half hours from his house so I think that helps. We'll see what he says coming out of that visit."
  • Hubbs on Dewayne Hendrix - "I think Tennessee leads and has been the leader, but he's going to go through the process with visits and certainly Missouri wants him. Tennessee is also going to keep on recruiting as many defensive linemen as they can. Do I think he's leaning or going to end up at Missouri, no I don't."
  • (Dimarya Mixon) "Mixon's visit list is very busy during the next month. At the end of the month he will visit Washington State. In November he visits Tennessee, Auburn and ASU in that order." - 247
  • "Obviously, Jarran Reed is a top priority and is very high on the Vols right now, but his recruitment is far from over. One thing that certainly helps the Vols is Reed was accompanied by his mother on the official visit and Knoxville is much closer to his Fayetteville, N.C., home than several other schools he's considering, including Alabama." - VQ. Article also says the Vols are hoping to take at least 2 JUCO linemen.
  • Dewayne Hendrix commits to the Vols

2015 Recruiting:
  • "If they sign 30 guys this year, they could only bring in 25 next year as long as they are under the 85. But, right now, that looks unrealistic. Probably closer to 20 or so."-Fortenberry
  • WuTang does an awesome breakdown of a Scout article on TN DB Rico McGraw - Winning is biggest factor. UT, Ohio St, Vandy, Bama, and Ole Miss are recruiting him hardest. Received a lot of hand written mail from Butch. Likes what he sees from Vandy and Ole Miss. Very high on Ohio St and Urbs. Likes Bama's D and Saban. Says UT shows him a lot of love and he likes that. Will be back to UT soon. No favorites, will make a list next spring. Unsure when he will commit but it will not be til next year.
  • Reggie Rogers per Scout, "Tennessee has always been one of my top schools, and I would love to have that offer."
  • GA RB Eric Swinney had an amazing time at the game. Enjoyed the Vol Walk and atmosphere. Says we proved we are some of the best fans in the country. Loves how much UT runs the ball. Says there are still a lot of schools "up there" but hes still very open. Swinney per 247, “My mom wants to come this time, so I will be coming (to another Tennessee game). We’ll probably go catch either one of those (remaining home) games,” he said.
  • WuTang breaks down a Scout article on NC OL Mason Veal - Thought it was a great game for his first trip to Knoxville. Liked the atmosphere. Top 4 of Clemson, UNC, Scar, UT (No order). Wants to stay semi close to home. Also wants to go to a family type atmosphere. Likes our recruiting class for this year and next. Benches 405, squats 505.
  • NC DE Darian Roseboro loved the fanbase on his visit. Was impressed by the coaches and fans. Thought the team played hard. Said hes going to make it back up in the spring and next summer. Roseboro said that he wants to make a decision sometime during the middle or at the beginning of his senior season. He said that he hopes to have a top 5 by the end of this season or near spring. He said that playing time is important, but he also said that he is looking for a family atmosphere: “(I want) a place that’s family-oriented, family-based — somewhere you know it’s all about family.” - 247
  • FREE Read on Juaun Jennings playing QB - Scout.com: Quarterback is Jennings' choice
  • UT offers FL ATH Shawn Burgess
  • FL TE Garrett Williams thought the fanbase was incredible. Knows that UT has been down, but is on its way back to the top. His father played at FSU and he says itd be lying if he said it wasn't going to affect his recruitment, but will go where his heart is. Says right now its even with a few schools, including UT. Will probably release a top 5 in the spring. Right now hes looking at FSU, UT, Clemson and maybe UNC
  • Although his father, uncle and brother played for UT, Keaton Anderson says he is not a Vol lock by any means. Grew up a diehard UT fan so he wasn't the biggest Bama fan. People think UT is his favorite, but says its 100% even. Went to the UGA game with his brother. Wants to go to a school thats winning.
  • VA CB Garrett Taylor says, "I sat down with my parents and we started to dwindle the list down a little bit," said the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Taylor. "The list isn't final yet but I know we've cut some schools. There are still some schools that haven't offered yet that we are waiting on to see if they are interested once the season is over." "I think I'm getting down to ten or fifteen right now," he said. "Fifteen would be the maximum number of schools that we would really want. Right now we're at Stanford, Ohio State, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Carolina, Nebraska and Oklahoma State. That's not my official top ten because I want to wait to see what other offers might come in after the season. I'll probably make my official top ten or fifteen then." "As far as schools I'm keeping an eye on, Florida State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama and LSU," Taylor said. "They haven't offered me yet but I want to see if they'll have interest in me." "The school I talk to most is Stanford," he said. "It's a lot easier for us to stay in contact now that September 1 has passed. I know their coaches have come out to see me play." - VQ
  • MI ATH Brian Cole enjoyed the atmosphere. Said he could barely hear the person next to him. Says he has a good relationship with the coaches because they have ties to Michigan. Lieks the offense, especially the sweeps we run. Wants to make a visit back. Has family in Memphis, Nashville and other parts of Tennessee.
  • TN CB Elias Cane says UT continues to recruit him hard, despite him not having an offer. Hes planning on visiting for the Vandy game. Says he really wants offers from UT and Vandy. Says the coaches like him anywhere in the secondary. Mentioned playing the nickel.

2016 Recruiting:
  • Lorenzo Harrison's (MD RB) father says UT, Penn St., Maryland and NCState are recruiting him the hardest. Harrison is trying to make visits to Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State before the season is out. He also visited a number of schools in the summer including Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech. Says Maryland (hometown team) and UT are sticking out early. Is D'Andre Payne's cousin, and Payne is telling him how great UT is.
  • TN WR AJ Morris names UT his leader. "Tennessee is my hometown team and I have to put them at No. 1 on my list. I love the people there, the players are great, and they have great facilities."I like what the team is doing, I think I could make plays in that offense, and I like Tennessee a lot." - Scout
  • Vols offer MD OL Jauan Williams
  • Darel Middleton no longer apart of his HS team.

This is the best news I've read since the Hendrix commit.
This kid will be dominant.
