We better hope that it's the ESPN game. If it's on CBS, either we lost or Tx AM lost.
If both TN/TxAM goes 5-0 into the game, it will 100 percent be on ESPN and 100 percent have College Game Day there. (I have sources)
I get what you are saying but there might be some sort of "payout" too. If TN wins and goes to 6-0 against Bama, that's gonna be crazy. Even if they lose to Tx AM I think they take the TN/BAMA game.
I could be wrong wrong with CBS/ESPN.. but I'm 100 percent right about Game Day being there if both teams go 5-0.
I know some peeps in that dept. There's really no other game to go too.

What/how would there be some sort of "payout?"
I just said that I might be wrong on the ESPN/CBS game thing.
My sources are more along the ESPN college game day side. (he's in charge of talent/anchors scheduling).
It benefits ESPN for having the game just so he doesn't have to fly out the anchors who do commentary (Kirbie)
When Game Day was in Ktown, he had to figure out how to get him to the UCLA game as quick as possible. That was hectic for him.
I don't know if CBS might sell off the rights to the game to ESPN, but we all know that money talks.
They do not sell games. The money that CBS gets from a big game's TV ratings is much more than a payout they would get from a rival broadcasting network I. ESPN, unless ESPN just came to them really wanting to go above and beyond/break bank for a game (which they'd never do).
To my knowledge, CBS has never sold off the rights to its top pick game to a rival company simply for money, and while it's a somewhat inconvenience to have to fly an anchor from Gameday's site to another site, the cost of the airfare is a minor one for the network relative to the overall amounts of money it's working with (not remotely major enough to warrant such a bold move as being necessary).
To them, that's just a cost of doing their business, but if anything the game they pick to broadcast would have more influence over Gameday's location - and it wouldn't be terribly much at that - than Gameday's location would have influence over the game they try to get the rights to broadcast
Sorry it was so stressful on your friend coordinating it all, though.
I think it's quite likely Tennessee ends up on CBS for both the TAMU and Bama games. I also think that's probably the last time they will be on CBS for the year given the caliber of the competition we play after the Bama game.
