A little late on this one due to family illness. My pregnant wife and 3 year old shared a stomach bug with me and put me on the sidelines for the last 3 days so, yeah, I got that going for me, which is nice. Anyhow, here you go:
South Carolina State came to collect their check last Saturday and that was about it. Putting 70 on a glorified 5A high school team is coll and all but what's not cool is the 2nd team offense having to punt against them. J. Showers didn't play all that great which further proves that naming Manziel as the starter was the right choice early on.
Other offensive notes include, C Mike getting his after a rough few weeks on and off the field. Tweeting is not in his best interest and as of 24 hours ago, that has stopped. Good for him. We'll see if Sumlin lets him continue on his road to redemption this week against Arky.
Defensively, it was as to be expected.
Special Teams = Dustin Harris. Dustin Harris = SCTop10. Go ahead and kick it to em Arky. Please, by all means.
Overall, nice home win and confidence builder in the little things for the Ags. The running game got to try some new things out which was good to see, and the passing game was opened up earlier. Also a nice thing to see considering this was the last "warm up" for conference play.
Next is Arky at home which should be a W, but....its Arky and they've had our number as of late. Maybe if we can have a start similar to the Florida game/SCSU game, we'll put this one away prior to the half. If not, it could be tough to overcome the mental side of things. Advantage us for it being at home finally, and the fact that they are in full blown meltdown mode currently. A loss to this squad would be embarrassing IMO. We'll see.
Ags 42 Pigs 17 - provided things go as they should.
