Week 2 Coaches Poll

Really think we need to get rid of pre-season polls anyway. It gives the top teams an inherent advantage every year. No rankings till week 4 or so.

I figured we'd drop a few spots. I'm surprised we dropped that far in the AP poll honestly.

The AP poll has always seemingly been pretty fluid in the first week of the season, though.

Remember 2006? Tennessee started off #23 and after beating Cal in the first game, the Vols jumped up all the way to #11 in the week 2 poll (above 9 teams that won their games...meanwhile Cal, also, fell from #9 all the way to #22).

App. State is 39 and Virginia Tech 50 in CBS poll.

If Appy State is ranked 39 and we almost lost to them, why does anyone think we should be in the top 25 still?

The system is not there for fairness, as the rankings are just a tool for the system... I doubt they will do that.

Yea, but every team has their challenges, the Vols survived.

And that's true, but we barely beat a team that's pretty far out of the top 25. I would say our current ranking is justified if App had been in the top 30.
