Problem is that Webb (the school that TKJr. attends) does not play against BA, Ensworth, etc., despite having more students than either of those schools. Instead Webb "plays down" (they are entitled to under the rules) and plays against schools like Mt. Juliet Christian School, King's Academy, Ezell-Harding, etc. Last year, Riverside Christian forfeited against Webb when one of their 11 (total) players was injured the week before and TSSAA rules did not allow them to start the Webb game with only 10 players.

Webb played a couple of good out of district games this year (they lost both), but those are the type of schools that they play week in and week out. Makes for some pretty awesome highlight films!!

Your quote has some some good factual information, but you also missed on a few too. They played 4 out of district games and lost 2. They had wins over teams that both made it to the state semis in their class (3a and 4a). Maybe this was just oversight on your part or maybe you were just trying to make your argument look stronger. Just wanted to clear that up.

Also since we are clearing things up....you eluded to the fact that Webb moved down and compared them to Ensworth and Brentwood. Are you really making that argument? Those schools are nothing alike if you really get down to it.

I was not trying to make my argument look stronger. Facts are, however, facts, and Webb did beat one team that made it to the state semi finals (Knoxville Catholic) in its respective division, not two. They also lost by two touchdowns to Baylor, a team that was 3-3 in its D2AA region.

Not sure what you mean when you say that Webb, BA and Ensworth are "nothing alike". Webb and BA are, imo, pretty comparable in virtually every aspect, other than BA teaches from a Christian perspective. Webb has more students than does Ensworth, but Ensworth is stronger academically and in the arts than is Webb.

I won't even comment on that horse manure you posted at the end because well it's horse manure. Look were the players of each team come from if you need some help.

Who cares about the level of competition he played? Tennessee high school football in general isn't as competitive as Georgia, Texas, or Florida, but dude has been tearing it up against great competition this week.

Here's a fact that apparently you missed. CAK made it to the semis also in 3A. By my count the facts say 2 wins. So who here knows what they are talking about?

CAK lost to Alcoa 42-14 in the quarterfinals (that's different than the semi-finals - not quite as good).

I know where all of the Ensworth players "come from" - what difference does that make? Are you perhaps suggesting that they are from the "wrong side of the tracks" or some outdated notion such as that? I also know that Ensworth's 2013 graduating class had a Presidential Scholar as well as 3 early admits to Harvard (out of slightly more than 100 graduates) . How many Presidential Scholars has Webb had in it's entire history?I also know that Ensworth's arts program is good enough to have attracted the children of Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Vince Gill & Amy Grant, Ben Folds etc., etc., etc. Or maybe those people just aren't sophisticated enough to seek out a quality education for their children. Horse manure, my eye.

Absolutely was not talking about "wrong side of the tracks". If you get your head out of the racism gutter you would see that many BA kids come from other places and were recruited into the BA system. Im not familier with Ensworth, but my guess is its the same thus the different classification for them.

To answer your question, Webb has had seven Presidential Scholars in its history:

Webb graduate Roddy named 2007 Presidential Scholar

What's your point? I'm not qualified to say anything about Ensworth, but Webb is clearly one of the best high schools in the state.

I don't understand why posts were deleted. We were discussing Webb school which just so happens to be the school that Todd Kelly Jr attends. Oh well.

Because apparently no one cared to read it and reported it as off topic. I moved it here in an attempt to please everyone. Discuss away.
