We Won One We Should Have Won

How about the LVs winning the Stanford game. That was a jaw dropper for a lot of people. Mind you, Stanford isn't as good as it has been in previous years and the LVs had home court advantage, but at the time there was a lot of doubt that the LVs were going to pull it off. The LVs may lose against SC, but if any one has a chance of beating SC in the SEC it is the LVs.

That is a good point about Stanford and I thought about them at the time but like you say it was at home and they aren't that strong this year. They have lost 7 games already.

I thought we would have a better chance against SC than you would think because we expect to beat them. We play them every year and they do not intimidate us. Over and over again we have seen our team psych itself out in high pressure situations these last few years in the tournament or against top five teams but we seem to be developing a better competitiveness and a key to that would be beating an elite team on the road.

Before Izzy I wouldn't quite count SC in that category of being a possible turning point game for the program because of the familiarity factor. We are comfortable playing them. But without her I think this game qualifies now.

It's an away game....they are always tougher....it's an SEC away game, tougher still....it's an SEC away game against a very good team that has beaten some of the same teams you have beaten....it qualified with or without Izzy. I am amazed at how lightly some of you are taking this game. I hope your team feels the same way....but I doubt it very seriously. The guessing will end Monday night. The fact is...if you win...the SEC is yours...if we win (with Kentucky and Miss St. remaining) we will just be in the drivers seat. Tennessee is going to have to come take it....we won't give it to them. The UCONN game proved that we still have a lot to prove...and before you say "troll", I was a member 2 years before you...lol.

You don't sound like a troll to me, just a USC fan posting on a UT board. Nothing wrong with that as long as you are polite:) Some posters come on here just to troll..they are jerks. Other fans, who just want to discuss the teams and situations, are always welcome to post.

The only thing I disagree with in your post is I don't think we are taking you lightly. We hope to beat you, some are more optimistic than others, but I think anyone who understands BB knows USC has the advantage this year. Losing Izzy is.....:bad:

I don't see any way this team beats SC in Columbia without Harrison. We will likely get dominated in the paint.

Just like any forum there are different kinds of fans here. You could tell some fans the Lady Vols are playing the San Antonio Spurs, and they will tell you if Burdick can keep Duncan off the boards and Carter can contain Parker they have a great shot to win. There's nothing wrong with those kinds of fans. But then there are some who would consider themselves more realistic, and others would call them "NegaVols." These fans will tell you most rational fans know USC is a horrible matchup for Tennessee since Harrison went down, and frankly the Lady Vols have little chance of winning this one. Like you say, I guess we'll find out who's right Monday....
