How about the LVs winning the Stanford game. That was a jaw dropper for a lot of people. Mind you, Stanford isn't as good as it has been in previous years and the LVs had home court advantage, but at the time there was a lot of doubt that the LVs were going to pull it off. The LVs may lose against SC, but if any one has a chance of beating SC in the SEC it is the LVs.
That is a good point about Stanford and I thought about them at the time but like you say it was at home and they aren't that strong this year. They have lost 7 games already.
I thought we would have a better chance against SC than you would think because we expect to beat them. We play them every year and they do not intimidate us. Over and over again we have seen our team psych itself out in high pressure situations these last few years in the tournament or against top five teams but we seem to be developing a better competitiveness and a key to that would be beating an elite team on the road.
Before Izzy I wouldn't quite count SC in that category of being a possible turning point game for the program because of the familiarity factor. We are comfortable playing them. But without her I think this game qualifies now.
