18 players have us in their top 3-5, most in the top 3. If, the law of averages is true to form. We should land 1-5 star, 4-4 stars, and 1-3 star.

When is the national signing day? I know that it is coming soon, I think sometime in February.

What is the best media coverage for signing day?

I haven't been this excited about recruiting in years.

Is it September yet?

That would be huge. Even being in the top 15 would be extremely solid given the circumstances of coaching turnover and the 5-7 record. Obviously, the results on the field are what matter the most, but great talent gives you better odds of success.

i believe when i was watching the under armour all american game, the bottom scroll had ESPNU's top recruiting classes, i believe they had ut listed at # 15, which i was surprised with considering we had a few defectors once coach fulmer was let go. i wouldn't doubt that if coach kiffin can land a couple big time recruits, that we will be in the top ten of recruiting classes.

If we finish in the top 10 I will shat myself. Realistic ranking probably somewhere aroud 15 which is still pretty awesome considering the changes.

As of last friday we were rated #16 by rivals... so with ~8 spots open - and assuming our current commits sign - I could see us moving up several spots on NSD.

i personally think scout is dumb as hell. rivals is outstanding. espn.com, not bad.

I subscribe to both. Both have pros and cons.

ESPN is the most accessible, but I believe they are inept when it comes to rating beyond their Top 150.

We're only going to sign 6 players this year?!?!?!?!?!

Just playin' :)

If you're numbers are right then that's 1 5*, 14 4*'s and 8 3*'s...that would have easily been enough for 10th last year and will probably be top 10 this year....

Let's hope you're right :crossfingers:

Top 10 or even in the top 20 doesn't concern me. More importantly is what the staff does with the talent we get. It would be nice to see better development than in the past and I believe we will. I, like many are as excited about our new staff as the media is over Obama.

I think you're right lofton...they rate Pat Patterson like the 50th best WR in the nation...I'm pretty sure they rank Rogers ahead of Patterson.

Does your sophisticated model take into account that all of the players we don't sign must sign somewhere else? How many of them will be signing with teams that would be competing with us for a top 10 position? Shouldn't that be taken into account...

Personally I'm feeling a few surprises as the interest our staff has generated is more than exciting. I'd consider a top 15 class performing well above expectations.

interesting...I would say your estimates are pretty optimistic.

there is honestly not a single 5* that I think we have a legitimate shot with...

I don't know about the one 5 star unless you count M.Brown (Rivals doesn't). I can see 4 4 stars though.

I agree. No, I didn't account for a couple not signing. But, I think you are correct. I think we get a couple of surprises. Which will offset a couple we may lose.
