We will be good enough to run 2 QBs in 2017.

Think of the troubles it would give the DCs of our opponents. They would have to prepare for both. Make them Co-Captains, then rotate the other 3 each week.

What in god's holy name are you blathering about? Are you talking about badminton or something?

Should be interesting playing against the Triple Option with two new D-Ends. Mackenzie, DKjr, and Tuttle (if healthy) will have to play lights out.

What does "good enough to run 2 QB's" mean? Does it mean a 2 QB system can only be run by "good" teams or something?

I don't.

2 heads are better than 1.

Practice with that in mind, it doubles the play book, that can't be bad as long as it doesn't cost us in execution, we got no "Wiggle Room" there.

Look it doesn't take a genius to know that every organization thrives when it has two leaders. [shakes head] Go ahead, name a country that doesn't have two presidents. A boat that sets sail without two captains. Where would Catholicism be without the popes.

To be clear in 2016 we had 4 year long Captains, 3 were out due to injury for some or most of the season.

For 2017 I'm suggesting to have QD and JG as permanent year long Captians and each week have 3 players rotate in as Captains.

It's a football team not the Catholic Church nice comparison. Same goes for a country and the president and the boat.

Are you aware we had 4 Captains the whole year last year?

Are you suggesting that we go to one Captain?

Having more leaders on the team is not a bad thing. Some would consider it a good thing.

Thanks for clearing that up. Look man, everyone has goofy ideas, and I just happen to think this is pretty goofy. Either QB will be a first time starter. I'm not sure if we've ever had a (in JG´s case) RS FR who's never taken a game snap be named a team captain. Just seems kinda silly to me.

In the SEC it helps to have multiple QB's on the roster, especially the way the Vols have incurred injuries, 2017 will really test Butch Jones and Vol fans alike

Check out how well it went for Auburn when they tried to run a 2 or 3 QB system this year. I would be in complete support of UT trying the same thing.

I have no idea but I wouldn't be surprised if both start games at some point this year. Before Dobbs got the spot Butch did give other guys chances.

Preparing for GT is not about playing two QBs at the outset of the season. It's about defending the triple option. D is the key to victory. Stop GT's O, which is designed to rack up scores and eat clock while doing so. If Tennessee's defense gives Tennessee's offense enough opportunities, they should outscore Tech whether two QBs get playing time or just one.

Gator's Johnson and Brandise in '97 and Tebow and Leake in '06 weren't too shabby...:)

GO VOLS!

Eric Locke/Joey Matthews combo vs. Southern Miss in 2000 was legit (blue font).

Seriously, the Ainge/Schaeffer combo wasn't too bad the first few games in 2004, when in the season opener it was actually Schaeffer who looked like a future Heisman winner, then against Florida it was Ainge.

Jones does have some experience with the 2 QB rotation to an extent at Cincinnati, but I would not reccomend it here.
