We very realistically could be 2-6

Let that sink in for a second.

We found ways to win despite the coaching. Butch did s great job recruiting when players thought he was good. He really benefited from the legacy players. I expect to see a huge drop in recruiting now. We can't even keep the locals.

We very realistically could be 7-1 so what is your point?

Sure we could be.

My point is our record shows us to be better than we really are, see last night as a prime example. We should have lost to App State, Ohio possibly, VT fumbled away their chance, UF should have spanked us, UGA should have won on, Chavis kept us in the A&M game, and well Bama is Bama.

I count 2 real wins there, but the rest could have been losses. When you think of 7-1, you think of a team playing well, and we aren't that or even close to that.

We no doubt play down to the level of our competition. Starts at the top but you would hope players would take charge when they see it going sideways like late night but they didn't.

Players take on the personality of their coach. Sabans eats, sleeps, and defecates success, and so does his players. Same with Harbaugh, Meyer, Swinney, and others.

Agree. The question becomes was it coaching, talent, luck? I think a bit of all three but more luck if I'm being honest. Unlike many here I don't think we are that talented at several positions and we clearly are lacking in the coaching department. Butch has to hear and read the rumblings. Will he act as a CEO and make the changes his business requires or act as a friend and adopt a bunker mentality with the hope it all works out better next year? Many a coach has taken the latter approach to his own detriment. Hope butch pulls a majors, Saban, and harbaugh and upgrades the staff/roster but in not optimistic. He impresses me as a man who's stubborn and set in his ways. Bit of a napoleonic attitude.

Last year, I remember reading the 'what they are saying' threads posted about all of our upcoming opponents. Week after week, it was 'they are really talented but poorly coached.' There was only one fan base that hadn't figured it out. Until now, hopefully.

we could play that game with every team in FBS, Clemson should've lost to NC state and Louisville

Do you feel like we are a good team? I sure in the hell don't, and that's the point of this thread. Welcome to the internet.

I think playing the we should have lost this and this game is dumb. We didn't lose those games as much as u wish we had

Again, this is about perception. Perception is something people feel, and my perception is that we haven't been a very good football team all year, and it shows.

This loss was bound to happen. Appy State and Ohio were glimpses of the coaches game mindset and being ill prepared. South Carolina bore that out last night. There seems to be no willingness to change and a stubbornness in CBJ that runs contrary to being successful at the next level. Another loss will not Be all that surprising. In fact, I expect it considering this staff seems to have no answers for teams we should dominate.

So that doesn't mean we have to be delusional idiots about it. We hired another bad coach. He will continue to disappoint us until we inevitably fire him or he leaves on his own. Deal with it.

We are disappointed because we set expectation for ourselves based on our limited knowledge of what we think the robots on the field should achieve.

I am disappointed about last night's game because I thought we should have won it. However, I considered last year a successful year minus the flordia game and I thought we would be 10-2, 9-3 team this year. CBJ win/loss total has been improving every year. A blown game last night suck. Is it enough to fire a coach or bench a qb that has willed this team to victory numerous times? Only if you are crazy.
