We really need a coach that uses John Harbaugh techniques

He treated all the players at Stanford like they were gods gift to the ncaa and see what happened. He took a 49er team with a bunch of rejects and got them to the nfc champ game. All he does mostly is tell them how great they are and treat them with utmost respect. Maybe DD should try that instead of saying how the players suck and are not very good. How about UT is the greatest place on earth!!! How about getting our player to perorm 2-3 levels above what they actually are. Mootivation is the key!! No more we're not battle tested talk. No more we're not very deep. No more we're really young. Fired up the troops and make them want to fight for you and UT.

The thing is the 49ers are not rejects. Those are really good football players and one of the best defenses I've seen in the past 5 years. They're a great football team

Harbaugh is a damn good coach, that's for sure.

Dooley better not revert back to his old standby's of youth, inexperience and not very good. Its year 3, if he has to resort to that crap again its just an indictment of his ability.

Jim is showing he can COACH his a$$ off put Stanford on map now take a 49ers team Noone thought could win and PUT them in NFC Championship game .

Who said anything about a new coach? The OP does have a point, I'm tired of having our players thrown under the buss. I hope Dooley learned his lesson.

Well he said "we need a coach like Harbaugh" not "Dooley needs to be like Harbaugh" so that tells me he was saying new coach.

Sorry lol. Jim not John. Even though he's pretty good too. My point is DD should look at building the team up, not putting them down so much they basically don't care iff they lose to ky. If he doesn't get it turned around then hopefully the next coach will be a better motivator and not put everyone into depression mode.

Well, next year we just want be very good cause we are too old, we will have to wait until we get some youth. j/k

I think there's a little more to it than kissing a$$... He's a good coach, but I don't think that's the reason at all.. And when DDgave those "excuses", they were legit reasons why we sucked.. Not just things he made up.

I see what ur saying, but at the time these statements were made, we weren't battle tested, we weren't very deep, and we were VERY young, so I get why he said what he said

Sometimes people behave how you talk and treat them. If you treat them like they're weak then guess what? EVery team has to cross that line, how about treating them like winners and then saying those negative things after the game is over. I think we expect to lose because of the environment. Ten year ago we were winning because we expected to.
