despite adversity. Seeing Douglas and Brown throw in the towel really has me thinking. I look at Reveiz who is ticked because he has a no contact jersey on even after he destroyed his knee and Im thinking "this guy is a leader". I look at Crompton who received death threats, but wouldnt quit. These guys really embody the volunteer spirit imo. Im sure you guys can come up with other examples, but these are the two that stuck out in my mind. Look at Nick as well. How many OC's has he had and he's still here.

What about me? Can we celebrate me? I haven't quit supporting the Vols through all this. I've been through a lot more stuff.

No offense, but we're in a worse position than I originally thought if we are going to start celebrating players who haven't quit the team.

I'm sorry, but celebrating because players haven't quit the team just makes me feel all dirty and lonely.

I'm confused, do we wait to celebrate players once they turn out to be good or do we do it for them the whole time they wear a UT helmet?

Good question.

Also, should we celebrate the players who have managed to not get kicked off the team? Like, if Fulmer hadn't stopped recruiting and Reviez got booted, would we celebrate him for not quitting? Since technically he didn't quit... For example, should we celebrate Nukeese Richardson?

I don't think we should celebrate people that aren't quitting, but we should appreciate players that are dedicated to the team. Most of us would give anything to suit up for the orange so why emphasize that they aren't quitters. We probably shouldn't dwell on players that leave. If they don't want to be here we've got plenty of players who do.

You mentioned Nick already, but I'll mention him again. He's the first name that always pops up for courage through adversity. And, big ups to the really good fans we have.

Tauren Poole - Could anyone have blamed him for quiting after being ignored by the old staff?

Shouldn't celebrate a player for not quitting.

Instead, belittle and trash the Hell out of the one's that do quit.

Much easier and is more warranted.

There were at least 2 RBs on our roster last year better than him, so yes, I can blame him. I think Williams would have passed him on the depth chart as well until he blew out his knee.

I don't know about celebrating the players. But they do need to know that they are appreciated for giving their all for the team and sticking through three different coaches.

This post speaks volumes about the current state of the program.

I heard that the Gainesville City Council was teaming up with the University to honor all the scout team members for sticking in there and continuing to honor their scholarship worth and not just giving it up to someone who would hate to have to go through all the trials and tribulations that come with a scholarship to Florida.

I disagree. There was one rb better. The other got a lot of promises regardless of merit. Also, we could play the woulda, coulda, shoulda game about Williams and we can have that conversation this fall.

Who has quit UT that didn't have a legitimate reason, and that wouldn't have quit at any other school?

Austin Johnson has a legit reason? Oh yeah I forgot. Dooley wanted him to stop using drugs. Yeah that's a good reason.

And Bryce? Maybe he's just a diva.

No. It doesn't.

Maurice Clarett went loco about the same time BB has after one year at his school. OSU had just won the BCS Championship. Clarett wanted out. He then wanted to rob a few students at gun point. He then wanted to drive the wrong way down an interstate. OSU was fine before him and fine after him. Clarett going loco had nothing to do with the state of the team and neither does this. All schools get bad apples sometimes. BB speaks less about the state of UT than the state of his mind. Same with Austin "how much you want for those" Johnson.

You totally missed the point of my post.

The fact that some die hard fans on this board feel as though we need to celebrate players for remaining with the program is... well, telling.
