In my opinion we need a mobile QB. I want a QB like Tee Martin. He was a QB who could throw it 60 yds, but could also tuck the ball and run it. I could be wrong but it seems to me that we would be more successful with a more athletic QB. In todays modern college football world, the most successful teams have these QBs. Im just sick and tired of seeing us have quarterbacks like Ainge and Clausen. These guys could not run to save their lives. In having an athletic QB it makes a team prepare even more because of their ability to turn a bad play into something positive. Of course this is just my opinion.

I recall Clausen looking pretty quick on a certain 4th and 19 play at Alabama....

I also recall Clausen going 0-4 against Georgia and playing like sh## the last two bowl games he played. Oh and he did not win one SEC championship just like Ainge.

Look at the current top 5 and tell me which QBs scare you with their mobility.

How dare you bring reasoning into this thread. Next thing you know you're going to tell me Manning was a very (im)mobile quarterback

Now Im not saying these QBs are Michael Vick, but all of those top 5 teams have QBs that can run when needed. Stafford has scored 5-10 plays on runs, Perriloux and Flynn run the option at LSU, Virginia Tech have 2 QBs that play with the one quarterback thats very fast, and even Oklahomas QB can run when needed. Ainge and Clausen were so slow that they were embarressing to watch.

Washington has a really good mobile QB. Oregon has Dixon. Florida has Tebow.

and Dixon went down with injury and so did Oregon's season. Tebow, while he put up great numbers and won the Heisman, was so banged up midway through the season that he led his team where? Oh yeah, the Cap One Bowl and 3rd place in the SECE.

I thought this thread was about mobility.

Here's a hint on how to make a thread:

Thread Title

Subject. Point A. Point B. Point C.

We will respond to your points. You can't respond back with something totally irrelevant to the thread. That just doesn't make sense. Threads do not go:

You: I want X
US: We have/had X
You: They played bad in other aspects totally unrelated to my original post.

If you dont like the thread then dont post anything. Hell nobody asked you to say anything. We are talking about the need for a mobile QB and how other teams have prospered under them. I just think we need a mobile QB. The thread could have been a little clearer but you dont have to be jerk about it.

There is a very mobile kid down at McMinn County and he has a rocket arm only problem is he couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle. Other than that I think he is available.

Is he a Senior this year?

Yes...but I'm not clear on who....my guess he will end up at Martin. He has a brother there that should of been at Louisville but when BP left for the Falcons he was left twisting in the wind.

You would think that if hes such a good athlete Fulmer would recruit him. It seems as if a lot of talented kids from Tennessee are simply not recruited hard enough by Fulmer. I know Bama is kicking our butt in our state with our top prospects.
