We need a graduate transfer QB

JG is tough and doesn't throw many ints. and that is A BIG plus in our situation. Maybe he's just a good game manager, but until we get much better line play it's hard to tell how good he is or could be.

It'll be interesting to see how he does under Chaney. Cromp daddy improved dramatically
Agreed, but god, we need an offensive line of some sort. When was the last time UT had an OL worth mentioning? I can't even remember.

Didn't most of the line with Dools end up in the NFL?

The defense was the problem then

Does anyone know the reason JG just stood there most of the time and took his licking. Perhaps Helton coached him that way. We know the DT hype was bull butter but I do think he could outrun most D linemen in a foot race. ( at least I hope so). If he was following orders then some of us, may have been too critical of him. Maybe JC will let him show us that he can run and roll out and throw. Wishful thinking I guess.

I don't know if jg could outrun a good dl, He is not very fast

A lot of people gonna be eating crow when they see JG behind a competent line hopefully

Any qb in sec can be successful if they have plenty of time to throw. What sets the good ones apart from the average ones are the ones who can make quick decisions and get rid of the ball quickly.

I am all for playing a young one, especially later in the season, if we are out of the East race. I don’t understand how people can say JG is good enough.
I'm not saying JG is good enough. I have to admit that I like JG, but I don't think he is the answer. My feelings are if Shrout or Maurer are as good as JG or even close then roll with whichever one that is and get them
experience. With this OC hire you don't have to worry about him leaving for a HC job. If he leaves for another I'm sure the buyout would be very high. In theory the QB this year should have a good chance to get some familiarity.
