We need a Bye week badly.

Really this is a good thread. Texas A&M has the luxury of 2 weeks to get ready for their road trip to Bama. I think they can beat Alabama as the Tide will play their 8th straight game. I think Vols had an open date prior to Bama last year and it really helped them keep it close.

Vols and Bama both will have played 7 straight prior to Saturday's matchup. Vols are horrifically beat up and the attrition from the tough games stacked back to back to back is showing up. Let's hope that Bama is somewhat beat up as well.

There is only so much physicality and hitting kids can sustain and Vols may have reached the limit at A&M - anyway the open date after Bama will certainly we welcome. Vols have developed more offensive depth in running game and with Byrd which will be critical in facing Alabama - which is loaded with quality depth, although they are young.

The SEC is doing a terrible scheduling job. You could get the impression that they are trying to eliminate the SEC from in the rankings, bowls, and playoff by forcing top teams to play unbroken strings of tough opponents. AL last year and UT this year are prime examples. For several others it's just three in a row instead of four, but somebody can do better. With friends like this who needs enemies.
