Like most everyone else, I came out of the WKU game feeling good about our football team and what could happen this year. Coming out of the UCLA game, I now realize just how young and thin this team really is.

USC, FL, TX, OU, all recruited their way to strength, and strength comes from depth. The term reload comes from years of quality recruiting, and this UT team has not seen that type of recruiting in several years.

Every UT fan needs to take a deep breath and understand that CLK has a plan and that plan is to build strength through depth. Anyone who thought that UT was going to come into this year and everything was going to be suddenly fixed, this REALITY CHECK is for you.

CLK can and will lead us to Championships. However, it will take more than one top 10 recruiting class and a win over WKU to get there.

I believe as fans, it is our responsibility to support our team, coach and staff, understanding the work that has to be done to return this proud program to the top.

BOOOOIIINNNGGGG!!!!! is unacceptable. Our staff brings in top level recruits to each and every game, and we cannot let our attitudes and actions have a detrimental effect on what CLK and staff are trying to do on the hill.

Stand up UT fans. Support your team. The road to success is paved with alot of hardwork and sacrifice, and it is time that each and everyone of us understand and embrace that fact.

Go Vols! Go CLK!

I think Kiffin will need time to turn us into championship contenders, and I fully believe he will do that.

Speak for yourself, I came out of the WKU game thinking....it was WKU. I didn't already say we were going to destroy UCLA or any of this "yeah but last year we barely beat Northern Illinois and lost to Wyoming" crap to justify any delusions. I thought UCLA was a possible loss. I thought we'd beat UCLA but I'm not really shocked per se we lost.

I, along with many other SANE Vol fans predicted 6-8 wins and we're still on track for that. I didn't need a reality check, the ones starting the stupid "We're gonna beat Florida" threads are the ones that needed this.

I agree that those fans that thought we could/can play with Florida just because we beat WKU are definetly delusional. We are a long way from that. I felt the over under this year was 7 wins.

I believe we as fans need to understand what our responsibility is in this rebuilding phase, and booing players, no matter how bad they play, will hurt what this staff is trying to do.

Terrible coaching and QBs that throw like girls deserve to be boooed. Look at the town halls on healthcare... people may pay attention to all the experts on VN... HA!

You know people pay good money to see these games. I too think it would be better not to BOO. but, How can you really ask people to express their pleasure over good playing, and not to express same over bad? Just a thought. IMHO

I agree. However, this game came down to a 3rd and goal from the 2, and we could not punch it in. This team worked hard to overcome a fumble and 3 INT's, and fell a yard short.

They gave it all, and at this point, that is a huge step above what we got as fans last year.

UT will have to significantly improve this year to make the 6-8 win plateau. UCLA is not a great team by any measure. Their offense was atrocious, ours was worse. Second year in a row we out-gain them, but totally out-mistake them.

Then you obviously don't give a damn about how your actions can affect our recruiting. That's ok, keep thinking about yourself, and not the team.

Alot of UT fans aren't that. Who boos a team in their second game under a first year coach? Yall need to get some sense and learn the game of football. If you thought UT would be good because we beat WKU, then you really have no clue about football.

I say it's time to put EB on offense/special teams though. The lack of playmakers is horrendus. G Jones/D Moore/B Warren are all useless. They cannot separate from any SEC cornerback. I say bench them immediately. I would much rather line EB line up on offense 20-30 times a game than watch these terrible receivers waste space.

CLK's gameplan is to set up the pass with the run. Our offensive line is thin and weak. We have no depth to set up a rotation to keep fresh players on the field. No running game hurts your ability to use play action pass and take advantage of your players in open field.

I think we have talent at WR, I think the pass rush and inability to establish the run hurts our ability to open up the playbook.

This was a sickening loss but i keep telling myself it will take time (2 or 3 yrs) for us to be dominant again, remember saban had a skint up 1st year at bammer. Does anyone think that perhaps we was looking ahead to the Fla game seeings how kiffin has put so much emphasis on that particular game coming into the season ? If we would of had an above average qb we would of won this game easily imo...

I'm not uptight...but he was making some "Address the Fans" type post, telling us what most of us already knew.

I agree the booing was bad, but methinks people were booing Crompton himself, not really the team. Not that it makes it ok, but Crompton has proven he hasn't improved at all.
