Alex Calleja
5-9, 140
duPont Manual HS, Louisville, KY

FWIW, I read on another UT board that Calleja "...only played one year of football & switched over from soccer but this kid sure has potential and from what I hear is planning to try and walk on."

Hit 3 of 3 FGAs and 33 of 34 PATs:
Alex Calleja - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl

Calleja tweeted yesterday that he's been accepted into UT's Chancellor's Honors Program.

Can't hurt. Brodus is a former soccer player too.

If he wants to walk on and can help the team, come on over. Nothing to lose for us and everything to gain.

I totally concur. I guess he just doesnt care whether it is a walk on or a heralded recruit. He will go after them. Even if the walk on has already accepted a spot at another school

I hope the skeletons in his closet are discovered someday and he's a future ESPN 30 for 30.

I was curious so I checked Andrew Gantz out on twitter. Looks like he's pretty solid according to his tweets. Swine Meyer.

Sounds solid, but I can't help but wonder if Butch is hedging his bets.

That is what I thought too but I think that the recent developments of Myer offering a walk on has him thinking

He went and visited several days ago and reaffirmed his commitment earlier today. I would be surprised if Gantz left for anything less than a full scholarship. If Meyer offers that, then he should consider taking his talents to OSU. Otherwise, I'm confident he's a Vol.

By the way, I hated OSU before Meyer and hate them even more now. I would hope that we would match the scholly offer to keep him out of Meyer's hands. If not, I can't hate on a kid for taking a free FBS ride.
