Shoop defenses are more effective against the spread that the power run game because of his brilliant usage of the outside backers and blitzes that attack 'space'.

This incarnation of the Shoop defense is vulnerable against the power running game . Maybe someone else can explain why...but last seasons defense seemed to have better gap integrity and fared better against the power run game. Did not like what I saw against UGA.

Maybe we fair better against Ala-Bubba ...but I like this defense better against the TAMU spread
