We iced our freaking kicker

My question is why????? We were lucky to have the lead, 7 seconds left and our kicker had already made a 48-yard field goal. I just don't understand what the coaches were thinking trying to get a few extra yards with 7 seconds left. Coaching lost us the game tonight, pure and simple

I mean with way time was, he was gone be iced no matter what happend..unless you planned to run him on with 7 seconds n try and rush a kick

As the kicker was warming up on the Vols last drive to win in regulation, the camera showed him, He looked like a rabbit with a pride of lions bearing down him. He was understandably feeling the pressure. One of the coaches should have noticed this and implored Heupel to take chances and get as close as possible to help the kid out.

He had to really focus on his breathing before the kick. Basically he was going to pass out before the kick. I didn't believe in the guy just watching him warm up.

No. Our decision to get greedy that led to that false start did. That kick was 37 yards before the false start. The kid had already nailed a 48-yard field goal from one of the hashes. They showed a lack of confidence in him and he got nervous and internalized it. That was a terrible decision. I hope the staff learns from that
